*Ping*!
Reid is powerful, but he isn't popular in Nevada, or at least not as popular as he should be.
Nevada is a majority GOP state and there is no reason why we shouldn't go after Reid's seat aggresively.

Reid is vulnerable because he has hidden ties. I might go work for Krolicki

Glad to see folks are finally moving on this. Krolicki or Heller would be solid.

Since you are in Nevada, can you tell us if Krolicki would be a good candidate against Reid?
Is Krolicki popular in Nevada?

I don't know any of these people or how well known they are in Nevada. I hope they are indeed well known. But Harry Reid is ripe for being beat. This is the kind of thing that frosts me about the GOP. They have a lot of money, but in so many of these vulnerable Senate races, they'er like deer in headlights trying to recruit good candidates. The candidates should be scores deep.

Finally! I've been on pins and needles over Nevada (as I imagine everyone else has). Looks like we'll have a solid candidate yet. I do think these Republicans who are supporting Reid need to get their heads examined. Reid is a liberal demoguage that needs to be shown the door.

Hmmm . . . good candidates don't exactly grow on trees. Statewide elected officials + congressmen + the occasional wealthy businessman; that's usually it for the top tier. In Nevada, for example, one congressman is a freshman, the other (Gibbons) decided against the race. So now one of the statewide officials will run, Heller or Krolicki. In Washington, one congressman passed and another is going for it. In Wisconsin, two congressmen passed, two more weren't really considered possibilities, a former governor and a former lieutenant governor passed, and now we have two wealthy businessman and a prominent state senator. In Arkansas, the only three top tier candidates all passed, and there's a big drop off after those. We'll probably have a sheriff or a prominent state senator.
I'm not sure where you expect "scores" of good candidates to come from.

I could never understand how Reid got elected in a
conservative state like Nevada; Could it be all those
immigrants from California?
To: upcountryhorseman
I know Reid was elected in 1986, which generally was a bad year for Republicans in Senate races (North Dakota, South Dakota, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Washington were also defeats) so there might have been an anti-GOP backlash at the time that since faded. Nevada up until 2000 did have two Democratic senators, the other being the now retired Richard Bryan.

Nevada was a Democrat state, and Reid was pro-life when he was elected.

I've got a call in now to a political buddy to see if it is worth it, I don't know him myself, but I'll let you know. But certainly, Reid is vulnerable, he only won by 400 votes last time over Republican Ensign, who is nice but dumb as a brick. It is so hard to get true Republicans who also have the killer instinct, but if Krolicki is a fighter, then it could be done. You have to be willing to pull the pin on the political grenade and throw it at these bums.

"Sheriff Bill Young", is owned by backroom political consultant Kent Oram, that's why he's a traitor.

The GOP has consistenly NOT supported past challenges to Reid's seat. Little money and no help.
Although Nev is a pubbie state, Clark County is full of teachers union and hotel union members and went for Gore in the last election. He will be hard to beat.

I live in Nevada. Last night a Democratic Pollster came by my house to ask questions about which issues I care about on a scale of 1-10. The last questions was what do I think of Harry Reid. You know, I don't think he is the worst but pretty close. He seems to care about Nevada but his opinions on the whole range of other issues concerning our country truly worry me. What really made me think was the fact that they have people out there beating the street talking to Nevadans. No one else has ever come to my door to ask me what I cared about. The Questions were about health care costs, terrorism, and the rest I can't even remember...Another thing that has really made me mad about Harry Reid is that I send him letters all the time and he sends his responses back, well I heard him rambling on and on two nights ago on C Span and he said " no one cares about the judicial nominees and that no one talks about that issue when Senators go home" I got fired up... I have sent him multiple letters on the issue asking him to stop the obstructionism in the Senate, he sends me letters telling me why those particular judges are bad...So JUST WHO DOES HE THINK DOESN'T CARE? I would love to see a good conservative get up and defeat him, who will it be? Krolicki?
