It's early in the Senate campaign. I predict Peter Deutsch will capture the RAT nomination.

I wonder if Penelas will drop out. He's doing nothing but getting beaten up by Deutsch.
Hastings garners decent support, stronger than I would have thought. I think he can get 25%, but that might be just short unless some more candidates join.

"I predict Peter Deutsch will capture the RAT nomination."
That's what I think - Castor is too "Moderate" for the Uber Liberals that show up for Florida Democrat Primaries.
Deutsch is also got more money than anyone else in the primary.

I hear rumors that Katherine Harris may run. How true is this?

Castor is too "Moderate" for the Uber Liberals that show up for Florida Democrat Primaries. But she's a woman. And supported by the radical pro-aborts. Both will take her far.

I think Hastings is in the race for the long haul. The man is rather delusional. To this day, he still thinks his impeachment as federal judge was a white racist plot. Also, Hastings is adamant that Jeb stole the 2000 election from Al Gore. Watching the RAT debates with Hastings in them is going to be most entertaining.

Betty Boop, oops, I meant Betty Castor is so insightful, and such a wise leader than when the FBI told her she had a nest of terrorists on campus, she ignored them.
In due course, one of the "academics" at the World Islamic Studies group took over as a Jihad group leader and another was Sami AlArien. Nice people, great university leader - Castor is just what Florida needs to represent it!
Florida needs another crypto-socialist like it needs a good rash. But this is, after all, the Sheeples Republic of FloriDUH; maybe we should stock up on calamine lotion.

Maybe, but Deutsch is even more liberal than she is.

As of now, I expect that Congressman Peter Deutch will win the primary, based on his huge bankroll and southern Florida base. But I'm not certain of that. His endless beating up of Alex Penelas could anger his supporters should Penelas himself withdraw. Castor remains the best-known 'Rat. Also, Allen Boyd is thinking of reentering the race. The remaining moderate 'Rats in Florida would support Boyd on electablilty grounds. And there is the potential of surprise on the Republican side. All of the major Republican candidates are strong conservatives from central Florida, with similar electoral appeal. (State Senator Daniel Webster is my choice) If Pinellas County Commissioner Barbara Sheen Todd runs, she could have a good chance of winning the Republican nomination. She would be the only moderate candidate, while the rest of the Republican candidates would cancel each other out.

Alcee would be great for the GOP, and even if he doesn't win the nomination, it will be great to see the Democrats claw eachother to pieces in the primary.

"His endless beating up of Alex Penelas could anger his supporters should Penelas himself withdraw."
Penelas' supporters are Cubans, who are mostly Republicans, and therefore cannot vote in the Democratic Primary.
So Deutsch can keep hammering away at Penelas without worrying too much about the consequences.

If Deutsch gets the RAT nomination, then expect the Cubans to flock to the polls for the GOP candidate.

But she's a woman. And supported by the radical pro-aborts. Both will take her far. Also, don't forget that as president of USF, she sat back and did nothing while Sami Al Arian used his USF faculty position to help raise millions of dollars for Islamic terrorist groups in the Middle East. So she may have the ANSWER vote wrapped up as well.

Although FL Cubans are mostly registered Republicans, they voted for Alex Penelas in the general election because he is one of their own. They will not take kindly to Deutsch beating up one of their own during the RAT primary.
