Once upon a time,
God had a Friend.
He promised his Friend a list of things.
He keeps His promises.
It's that simple.
Fight with God at your own risk.

Oh, I think so, and agree. The underestimation of American might, and American values, has indeed appeared since those days, IMHO. I know or have known so many who served in WWII, and I have heard their stories. It amazes me how most of our people have seemingly forgotten those deeds of conspicuous heroism and valor in and beyond the call of duty. And what they owe to all those men and women.
Here's to Manila John Basilone, a Marine's Marine, and here's to the 82nd Airborne. Here's to the codebreakers, and the codetalkers, and the Coast Guard. And a cast of thousands. And here's to the Viet Nam Vets, and the VFW. And here's to Rosie the Riveter, for crying out loud.
One more big attack from the AQ and it will be a sad day for even the good Americans of Arab and similar descent, I fear. And I will support mass relocations, etc., and whatever else may be required.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Eventually you keep telling that Moon God story and you will anger folks you didn't expect to.
You were aware, of course, that it's not that big black cube you see in the pictures. Right? You did know that?
Folks I know who have been there and participated say there are several items to be seen once the big black heavy curtain is pulled up. They are several fossilized logs much like you can see out West in the petrified forest. In addition there is a larger rock, clearly of meteoritic origin on top of the logs. The stones look very much like an altar. Some report seeing other, smaller meteors, in and amongst the petrified wood pieces.
The Kaaba/Khaba is a very ancient structure. Moslem tradition says it was Abraham's altar where he proposed sacrificing his son but was stopped by an angel. No doubt it is of some archaeological interest, and no doubt Moslem archeologists have performed all sorts of studies on it on behalf of it's current protector, the Saudi royal family.
The whole point of the Haj is visit the place where, according to the Moslems, "God Visited Man". Even after you'd turned it to radioactive glass, the "place" in terms of it's global coordinates would still exist. As far as the petrified wood and the meteors are concerned, the Empty Quarter between Saudi and Yemen has many more of the same stuff lieing about on the surface. These guys could be back up and running the Kaaba/Khaba (with hazmat suits) within months after the cooling of the fireball.

"Nah, we'll trade 'em for Hindus. Still get lots of nice restaurants."
The most well thought out comment in this thread.

I had a very bright former moslem live with me for more than a year.
He did extensive research on "Allah."
He is utterly convinced to his bone marrow of the "moon god" issue.
Given his brightness, his Morrocan ancestry back to the 'prophet' . . . etc.
I defer to his study and wisdom on such matters.
The black cloth forms essentially a cube. I had no idea what was underneath it other than the meteorite bit.
Yes, they could be back up and running. And the inclination, tenacity would be in that direction. Nevertheless, being a basically very superstitious people, as I understand it--massive proportions of them would be very rattled.

Much agreement.
Trouble is,
After they use the internment camps for Arabs et al,
they will come for the Christians and Jews.
Lots of double bind choices ahead it appears.
And some very clear cut ones.

The "Moon God" stuff arises out of the ancient Middle Eastern practice of using the phases of the Moon as the basis for the calendar. This sort of thing happens the closer you get to the Equator because the changes in the Sun are not so apparant.
However, the Moon God is no more relevant to Islam than the Sun God is to Christianity.
Then there's Judaism that uses both kinds of calendars, and I don't think anyone would suggest that Judaism is driven by a Moon God/Sun God dichotomy!
Your friend who is a Moslem who is convinced of the Moon God business should see an Imam about that. The man definitely needs some counseling.
To: muawiyah
Thanks for the enlightenment. You may be right on your insights.
As to my former Moslem friend--He's doing quite well with his family and relationship with the God of The Bible and the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He has no need of any counsel from an Immam and would laugh derisively at the idea. Any time he spent with an Immam would be spent trying to convert the fellow to Christianity.
And, he's a relentless researcher and probably 110% convinced of his position at this point--regarding the moon god derrivations, the implications etc. of Islam.
He's totally convinced that Mohammad was listening to demonic spirit guides at the beginning of the religion of Islam.
I confess, I agree with him.

Can't we just spray lard all over it?

Such camps would indeed set a bad precedent. Perhaps supporting such measures would be short-sighted. Any individual or group could be tagged as a national security threat, so it seems.
Immigration control would, I think, really mitigate the problem. Closing the borders and deporting illegals would do a lot to protect American men and women of Middle Eastern descent -- and those of us who celebrate other heritages as well, in my opinion.
