Last time that I was there was about three years ago, 'Bina was in the hospital and I spent the day there with her and then over to Croft House to pick up the apartment and make some calls for her. So I didn't get to do much exploring. The new hospital is really nice and the people there are wonderful.

I knew there had been a lot of development out in that area - Aiken is a bustling little metropolis - at least on the southside. I love the downtown area though. Shopping at the Purple Plum and eating at the restaurants there. Of course EJ's at Calmai Plaza is one of my favorites.

You would think that I grew up there in the 40's, but I've seen Aiken through Momma and 'Bina's eyes for so many year with the stories that told. It always amazes me when I see it.

I sure wish that more of the FReepers had shown up for the Rally. But I got to be proxy for Calpernia and Pippin and you and Nan and all the rest of the finest that couldn't be there. I knew that y'all were there in spirit to show your support.

I don't know about D.C., but here in W by god V it's downright hot. I turned my bedroom air conditioner back on. Thought it was down for the winter. The days are lovely though.
