This is good reading, and a pleasant surprise (considering the source).

It has also left them in danger of looking as though they were clinging to economic gloom.

The Dems will move away from "It's the economy, stupid", to "Where's the WMDs?" & "Bush's Health Care Crisis".

Media sources such as CNN's MONEY have been downplaying the state of the economy for a year now, using selective statistics and the commentary of Krugman types.

Economy's Surge Poses Challenge for Presidential Hopefuls

Now that Dubya' has placed another hurdle in their path by slamming their "economy" agenda I forsee another political agenda on the horizon to try and stiffle Dubya's quest for re-election. Soon, I'm sure, we will see the efforts of that agenda.

They have already been on "Where's the WMDs," without even taking a ten-minute break in the past seven months. If we manage to actually find some WMDs without crossing the Syrian border, the left-wingers' consumption of Zoloft is going through the roof.

But with the economy having surged this past quarter they are suddenly confronting the possibility of a far less encouraging historical comparison: that the election year economy could be more like the one Ronald Reagan ran on in 1984.

You do remember the results of that, don't you?

Once again, ever and always, what's GOOD for the country is BAD for the Democrats.

"It has also left them in danger of looking as though they were clinging to economic gloom."

Yes, I noticed that. That's why I cut the excerpt right after the end of that sentence. Bad news makes their world go around.

How could I forget 1984? The morning after Dad called me to tell us the news "Did you hear they finally caught both of those guys?" Taking the bait, I asked "Which guys?" "Both of those guys who voted for Mondale," said Dad.
