Richard Nixon in 1972 captured over 60% of the popular vote and won a huge Electoral victory:

Most people tune out the media on the weekend. I killed my television a while ago, and Sunday morning talk shows are part of the reason.
For people who tend to leave their TV on all day, no matter what (like grandmom who lives alone) the talk show hosts become godlike icons of truth, unfortunately. There is no escape for people who live by TV.
It is not all evil, though. Free Republic has a standard "Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread" that can be quite entertaining, as long as active brains criticize the TV idiocy. It's either that or kill your TV.
Either one works, but killing your TV can benefit your whole family.

Nixon lost to Kennedy the first time-
Kennedy-49.72%
Nixon-49.55%
1968
Nixon-43.42%
Humphrey-42.72%
1972
Nixon-60.69%
McGovern-37.53%
For information
Lyndon Johnson in 1964 got 61.05% of the vote so what does that tell you?

Anybody know where to get a chart or table or just the raw data on the number of attacks daily in Iraq? I have been searching the DOD site, but most of that is all slick media presentation type stuff. I just need how many each day. I plan on charting them vrs. Dem/madia events here.

We who pay alot of attention to news find it hard to beleive or understand, but most people pay very little attention to the news no matter what day it is. By the end of this day, more people will know the today's NFL results than know what happened in Iraq earlier.

Great minds must think alike. I think you are right. The terrorists understand how to orchestrate their efforts to shape the news. The Sunday talk shows may not draw huge ratings, but it is a select audience with many opinion makers. It wouldn't surprise me with all of the Vietnam analogies for the Left to characterize the helicopter crash with 15 fatalities as the equivalent of Tet. Such reactions will fuel the attacks against our personnel.

Richard Nixon in 1972 captured over 60% of the popular vote and won a huge Electoral victory: Your point being? Nixon didnt win the big victory because of his personal popularity or job performance. He won the huge electoral victory because the Democrats nominated one of the worst candidates in American history.

Such reactions will fuel the attacks against our personnel. It really is begining to look like the left, and I dare say elected Democrats, have been sending a message(overseas) with their Vietnam talk to try to create such a situation. They have their media lackeys ask them leading questions for plausible deniability on actually creating it, but willingly play along. There is a reasonable case for treason, they are not only giving aid and comfort to the enemy, they are giving direction. Make it hurt, and we will leave is what they are saying.
They are playing a dangerous game that in the next year could destroy our government as we know it.

My point being that I misread the other poster's
second try as
second term and responded with what I thought were the appropriate statistics, but I was wrong and corrected myself.
I never stated the reasons why Nixon had such a huge margin in '72.
Your point being?

Agreed. Certainly the enemy counts on help from our media, but the weekend theory is wrong. Neither world nor US public opinion revolves around the Sunday shows. Only political junkies pay attention on the weekends.

. It's the jihadies that are the problem but it 'is' the RAT spin that encourages them. And that spin is what they are counting onOh, man, I wish that were true.
They are "encouraged" by their heathen moon-god cult and hatred of America.
And they don't give two sh*ts about RAT spin-to them, RATs are just more infidel targets.

They're simply disgusting. The media enjoys a certain satisfaction when Americans are killed by these parasites.
And they won't mind repeating the orgy of violence, either. They revel in it. They're pigs.
