"And what happen if mad bomber Clark become president of US next? Will all germs just go away?"

No, but neither will all those nukes, or the worlds strongest miliary.

The fact is.... power is going to rest in somebody's hands. At least the US has some checks and controls. The president is subject to congressional oversight. And we do have a free press even if they are more interested in pushing agenda's these days instead of really investigating and reporting the news.

The adults are in charge of ours

Ha. How soon we forget. That could easily not be the case in another year or five. You think President Hillary would have a problem opening up our research facilities to the Chinese?

And do you really think that there are not Chinese agents working in these sensitive areas, even as we speak?

That said, I think this type of work needs to be done as we know our enemies are doing it. The best way to combat something is to fully understand it.

The US didn't really do any such thing, you know. The New Scientist is way out of touch with this field, evidently - this particular phenomenon has been going on for several years now. I posted this link to some two-year-old Aussie research in another thread, but it's worth a look:

HERE.

Interleukin 4 is a well-known immune system regulator and is widely researched for its effect in such diseases as asthma. I know of at least two therapeutic approaches for that disease under testing now for human application that involve IL-4.

This genie's long out of the bottle. The point is - why is the New Scientist suddenly making a new issue out of this? Why are they trying to blame the U.S. government for it?

Wonder is this is some disinfo and chestbeating. I don't doubt these are underway, but like Reagan and SDI visavis the Soviets, perhaps this research, while actively occurring is also partially designed to let jihadis know that we can come up with some powerful and lethal forms of mass death that could be, as needed, passed off as naturally occuring plagues. A shot across the bow.

The Australians came up with something new called mousepox or monkeypox last year.

And when you have Saudi financed biotech entities like BioPharm, there is always the potential for sheer terror.
