I'm not a big fan of excluded middle arguments. Does observing sex always mess up children? No. But that doesn't mean that the opposite conclusion, that observing sex is entirely harmless, is true. The truth is somewhere in the middle and, no, I don't think you'll ever be able to fully define the risks. But in the big scheme of things, are children worse off if they are sexualized? I'd have to say yes. And are they worse off if their first encounters with the idea of sex involve seeing women in pornography being intimate with vegitables, animals, and multiple men at one time, I'd also have to say yes. Pornography on the Internet is not restricted to idealized pin-ups from 1960s Playboy magazines. Read the names of the pornography-related Usenet newsgroups sometime. The bestiality groups do not contain pictures of topless Vegas dancers standing platonicly next to Seigfried and Roy's white tigers.
