...the Bengals (3-4) proved they're no longer dreadful and no longer dependent upon one moody running back.

They are ahead of the Browns and the Steelers. I am so ashamed.

Its not like the Stillers are a real team or nothin'. This year, the only real football team in West Virginia is the Mountaineers.

I love the Seahawks, but even I wouldn't categorize them as a "top-notch" team. (Despite their record)

The NFL has reached its goal of parity.

Give us beknighted residents of Bungle-land some comfort, LOL.
To: bigfootbob
BS the Dolphins suck and they'll never win anything.

Their success is dependent upon one man.....
...keeping his mitts off the team.
Since he owns it, we'll see how long it lasts.

He'll take it as a sign to let loose of talent and skill.

Which begs the question: Do we really need salary caps and the draft?
I would aruge no to both. Salary caps, outside of envy politics, does nothing but boost the bottom line to owners. The Draft does nothing other than ruin careers by sending good players to teams like the Bengals.
Pro Football should be about excellenc and domination through competition, not feel good "parity" The proverbial "Best Team that Money Can Buy" is a myth, unless a team is allowed to hire and bench the leagues best tallent. IF anything, limiting roster spots, like the NCAA limits Scholies is all that should be needed.

And in other news, the Lions even lost to the Bears.
If I was the GM, I'd trade all of our receivers outside Rogers each for a draft. Not even a draft pick, but draft beer on tap.

I would aruge no to both. Salary caps, outside of envy politics, does nothing but boost the bottom line to owners. It's no coincidence that the NFL is the favorite league of American fans. Turning it into a baseball clone with 2 or 3 moneyed interests trying to buy a Super Bowl every year is not a solution to anything.

I went to grad school in Cinti and was happy to see the Bengals win (I lived in the same apartment complex as most of the Bengals back in '69 on Dixmyth).
And, my beloved Giants upset the Vikings--a great football weekend!

Being beat by the Lions is like being beat by the St. Mary's School for Wayward Girl's football team.
