I would suggest that when you email these bozos include specific examples of the lies, distortions, etc. that you've heard about so they know you're not just blowing smoke.

The little I've heard suggests that he is presented quite favorably

It must be very little. He doesn't have to listen to talk show hosts he obviously holds in contempt, he needs only listen to the ACTUAL SOUND that Drudge played plenty of to formulate a totally informed opinion. It's a hit piece, plain and simple.

Maybe we should remind these bozos at CBS that we KNOW they have lost 50% of audience share over the past year. If they choose to lose the other 50% - that is their choice. And .. make sure you tell them WE WILL NOT BE WATCHING - we already know what the SCRIPT SAYS - and it is full of lies. And .. we will be telling any and all sponsors of CBS how unhappy we are with your treatment of a LIVING PRESIDENT - who cannot defend himself.

I am not watching that piece of garbage. Especially, since I have heard Baba Streibaby has been making her innuendos.

CBS is the same network that wanted to make a "comedy" about people putting their lives back together in the aftermath of 9/11. Thankfully it was killed by public outcry.

The people running CBS have no conscience and no shame. It must be spoon-fed to them by the public at large.

My response from Monster.com:

Hello XXXX,

We have received several emails similar to yours in regards to the rumor that Monster is sponsoring the movie on Ronald Reagan in November on the CBS Network. It is very important that I send you some clarification about this subject, as there is a great deal of incorrect information circulating about Monster's advertising plans. Monster is not advertising on CBS during the month of November, and has never had plans to do so.

Thank you for your concerns.

Here is the response I received today from my local CBS affilliate in Kansas City. Note it was a form letter.

"Thank you for contacting KCTV5 with your comments regarding the upcoming CBS Mini-Series: The Reagans. KCTV has received several inquiries from viewers concerned about the series. While KCTV has the option to preempt CBS network programming, we have chosen to air this mini-series to let our viewing audience make its own determination as to whether or not to watch. The station has no public opinion for or against one’s political views; rather we believe it is up to the general public to determine whether or not a particular show has merit. This program, which is still in post-production, will be a four hour saga dealing with the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, from the time of their meeting to beyond Mr. Reagan’s presidency. There has been recent discussion in the public arena, and commentary and assumptions have been made by individuals who have not seen a single frame of this film. While in any biographical drama, a degree of theatrical license is unavoidable, we wish to assure you that CBS and the producers of The Reagans have made every attempt to be fair and accurate. As broadcasters, it is our job to put forth programming that informs, entertains, and hopefully, stirs meaningful discourse about the events of our time in a responsible and truthful manner. We invite you to watch The Reagans and make your own personal judgment as to whether or not we have succeeded in our efforts. If you wish to comment further on The Reagans, you may contact CBS Audience Relations at area code 212, 975-3247 or by email at audsvcs@cbs.com<

Thanks for watching KCTV5."

I used to work for a station that was/is a WSPA 'sister station' - since the group that owned them got swallowed up by Media General, the local GM's have to ask Media General corporate for permission to pee. If you want to direct some ire or ill will - point it to Media General's corporate offices.

tell this manager you intend to use the federally mandated vchip in every TV in you home to block his station so it will not exist in your home. His advertisers will be wasting their money with his station.

If this show airs, I hope you will consider watching and forming your own opinion about how President Reagan was treated.

No, I did that when it was announced that B.ull S.h_ts spouse was given the role as Ronald Reagan. Here is a random sampling of the comments I sent to several CBS executives this past weekend. I was really feeling it on Saturday A.M., he smiles. The made up dialogue and false scenes that Matt Drudge has revealed on his website only reinforced my original complaint. You and your advertisers will never receive any of my hard-earned money again. Blatant Lies, and Slander just don't go over very well w/ me. There's a special place in purgatory for people like you. Making a mini-series with lies about about Reagan, while he fades into oblivion w/ alzhiemers disease, puts me at Dis---Ease! I hope this turns out to be a total 'bomb' of a mini-series and I plan on reading Mike Deavers book on Reagan every night this airs on TV. Unfortunately for you, I don't watch 60 Minutes and haven't for years. The only program I do watch on CBS is E.L.R. because as a man,I love Patricia Heaton.( Please keep kicking Ray's _ss Debra!) Only half of voting age American DumbocRATS will watch your filthy mini-series and 'barely half of that group' will actually watch it each day. I find it fascinating that you've intentionally and effectively alienated a rather large portion of potential viewers, by making a mini-series that tells blatant falsehoods. I await the day in the near future to see the horrible ratings too. I don't doubt that B.S. ( and her RAT sycophants) contributed to the dialogue and false scenes themselves too. I know from 8 years of hell not to underestimate a Demoncrat, which is what your network represents best.

Then I went to a wedding in the afternoon and had a great evening.

I think the appropriate counter response would be to inform this stuffed shirt that if he takes the word of the leftists that it is a flattering representation and airs it, he'd best be prepared for the serious backlash of angered viewers when it turns out to be an insult!

Ah, but then, I'm sure the commie libs that convinced him it was flattering will come forth and pick up the slack for lost viewership and revenues that his trusting them cost him.

All they have to do is listen to the parts that have already been broadcast by Drudge. Or he could contact Micheal Reagan, who has seen actual parts of it.

They are not trying very hard.

I would like to know what parts of it he thinks are favorable?

What do I think? When I lived in Canada, one of my biggaest gripes was the practice of prior restraint. That is what you call it when the government would prevent a newspaper from printing something. It happens there quite a bit. I am uneasy supporting an effort to stop something from being broadcast.

My reply from Clorox:

Dear Mr. XXXXXX:

Thank you for giving us your views about television program sponsorship.
Our basic guideline in buying commercial time is to select only those programming
periods that are consistent with our reputation as a manufacturer of quality products.
To ensure that we meet this objective, we prescreen all shows before placing our
advertising messages around them. We select only those program periods which we
feel offer the proper environment for our commercials. Acceptable programming periods
would not include shows designed to exploit race, religion or national origin, or
shows that rely on unnecessary sex or violence to support their story line. Our
commercials will be aired around programs carrying a "parental discretion"
advisory only when they do not exploit violence, sex or prejudice.

Even while operating within these guidelines, however, we know our selection of
programs will not always meet with every viewer's approval. Occasionally, questions
of personal taste will arise, and some individuals may be offended by particular
programming periods we have selected. Still, we do attempt to avoid placing our
commercials around programs that will be offensive to substantial segments of the
viewing audience.

We and many other companies are trying to purchase advertising time in a responsible
way, and we have expressed our views to the networks. Even so, we believe the best
force for change is the television audience. For this reason, we urge viewers to
let the networks know about their concerns and not to watch programs they find objectionable.

Once again, thank you for writing.

Sincerely,

Charles Hvizda
Product Specialist
