Understand..I am a doctor, and I have been in these facilities. I'm not saying this is wrong and untrue, I'm saying, investigate. I think that there is plenty of reason to do so (I think they call it 'probable cause'). I want the truth behind this, and it should be a matter worth an acute and through investigation. Before I condemn my brethern I want to hear facts!

I'm sure I've mentioned to my husband that I wouldn't want to be kept alive on machines for years on end. Still, I thought I needed to clarify that. I asked him not to dehydrate/starve me to death. "To doctors today, it's perfectly normal, and they might want to push you into it..." Well, he was insulted that I even asked.
"What am I, cruel? I can't believe you'd think I'd torture you like that."

I'll bet you believe Michael's story that Terri told him she wouldn't want to live on life support though, huh?You know, I'm sure many spouses say that to each other. But do they know "life support" now includes food and water? How many would say, "Sure, hon. Go ahead, starve me to death. It would be for the best."

I agree - thanks for your enlightened comments on this thread.
Seems other employees of these hospitals should be interviewed.

Have you considered visiting a shrink?
This is an afadavit under oath, or don't you get that?

Probable cause is all over the place in this case. I believe both Michael Schiavo and the hospice needs to be investigated.
Color me naive, but I had no idea that dehydrating/starving a person to death was even done in this country. It's unconscionable, and I don't believe for a minute that it's "painless."

So, these people are parties to felony fraud. Happens all the time. One of the reasons I left the medical field

None of these people who provided affadavits have been able to appear in court because the dutiful husband's legal team has kept all this out of court. Learn about the case.

Or even air? Shut the patient in a sealed room. Dies for lack of air.

I am suspicious of this lawyer - G. Felos. $550,000 from Terri's rehabilitation funds? Hm.....tin hat in place now.
Wonder how he and Michael got connected. Should some unsavory types want to beat the system - could a deal be arranged?
The husband wants the money set aside for the death-delayed wife, a lawyer with a connection to a hospice could arrange for that death-delayed person to be put in that hospice, charge the husband extreme legal rates and arrange to pay him a huge portion of that for the story of the death of death-delayed wife. In the meantime hospice is taking care of death-delayed wife and I think Medicare picks up hospice charges.
Awfully convenient that the lawyer chosen happens to be on the board of a hospice. Also such a coincidence that this same lawyer writes books on pro-ethanasia.
Why would the husband be willing to payout such huge amounts for legal fees unless he knew he would be getting some portion of it. Why was she moved to this lawyer's hospice?

Were some of you guys born yesterday?
These women were afraid for their jobs, had rent to pay, etc.
They now have come forward to give witnessed statements to facts, knowing full well that wherever they currently work may fire them. Their current employers know that they will not go on with bull crap. I think these women have shown incredible courage. They may not be able to pay their rent or buy food for their kids. Give me a break. Congratulate them for coming forward!

Would there be a conflict of interest when the lawyer is on the hospice board of the hospital that Terri is in AND that he is pro-euthanasia and in fact writes books on that subject? This is the lawyer supporting the husband's death wish for his wife.
What bothers me is that this woman is a prisoner of her husband for the last 12 years, denying her the care that could improve her happiness and her life. How very cruel to deny her the visits of the only people she loves, how cruel to limit her TV and radio, and to deny her even the smallest comforts. If that man loved her at all, he would want her life to be as pleasant as possible in her condition - but no, he just wants to kill her to show his love.
We have read novels by Robin Cook with plots similar to this - the victim is trapped. No one sees what is happening to her, no one believes and the corrupt plotters want her dead. Maybe we ought to get Robin Cook on this case.

Do you people not have a clue what it means personally to these people who have come forward with affidvits? They may never work in their field again. This is a big thing. By doing this, they may not have food, rent, minor details. They will be blackballed. Give me a break.

I have worked in hospitals, and have charted incessantly, with the understanding everything I charted with would be permanent record. I had one case in a psych hospital, kid of a senator, where all my charting disappeared. Had a choice, report that to the top, and lose my job, or say nothing and have food to eat. Give me a break. This happens everywhere.

Thank you for the link. This poor woman has been through hell. It's a wonder that she has survived for so long under such adverse conditions. The more I learn about this case the more convinced I am that both Mr. Schaivo and Mr. Felos are evil greedy bastards.

Even the affidavits are sticking their neck out. Why aren't the health facilities where they worked braying about how wrong the affiants allegedly are?
