If I were the Dems, I would I try and get a candidate that could crack the GOP stronghold on the South. The only ones now in the race that could do that are Edwards and Clark. Clark would be the strongest, at least as of now. Just as the Dems must have CA. and NY to win, the GOP must sweep the South to keep the white house. I predict, unless he fails as a viable candidate, Clark if he does not get the nomination for president, will be on the ticket as VP.

Not quite true, though the GOP needs a strong majority in the South. Losing Arkansas and one other state (Louisiana?) would not be too hard to overcome with states Bush lost narrowly in 2000.

His statements just don't get as much airplay. He won't win the nomination

I believe your right, he won't get the nomination. When he first ran for office in the 1970's, he was anti-abortion and anti-busing. I wonder what happened? (sarcasm)

I hear if he starts looking like the nominee, that a certain picture of him making a speech with a USA flag on one side and a Confederate Battle Flag on the other will surface. I'm kind of curious what the reaction will be.
