Iran and the ruling class are getting ready to fall under thier own weight. Patience, in the case of Iran, will prove to be a virtue, imho.

My thoughts exactly.

My guess is that the Iranians figure they can pull the same "cooperation" that Iraq did for over 10 years. That is, pretend to "cooperate" while in fact using the politics and diplomacy of the UN waffle-monkeys to avoid any real consequences.

My guess is that they looked down the road and saw either:

A) The US tells Israel to blow up their facilities. In which case, they would be unable to militarily respond and would be humiliated in front of their peers (suffering major damage to the regime's prestige as well, potentially causing a revolution).

or B) Pretend to backtrack (just as Iraq pretended), buying them many many years of games and ploys.

I say fuck 'em, blow that shit up and get it over with.

Furthermore,

Iran probably put up that inital "resistance" to the inspections, just so that they could later on "reverse-course" and make it seem like some huge breakthrough. Thus buying themselves even more diplomatic/political leverage to use against those UN waffle-monkeys. This is going nowhere folks.

If something happens to confirm the moon worshipper's prophecy of world altering events and the ushering of the 12th Iman

Should we keep the date open?

Seeing how the Iranian Mullah's will soon have the nuclear card to play, I do not see how patience is a virtue in this case.

I know we have our hands full in Iraq and may for some time to come, but someone has to knock out Iran's six plus nuclear facilities. This may also give impetus to the freedom movement.

Perhaps but President Bush doesn't have the political strength or will to do that right now. We are three Army divisions short and overextended as is. If he gets re-elected, everything changes.

Perhaps Isreal should destroy Iran's nuclear facilities as they did to Iraq. They took a lot of criticism when they did it but very few question their actions now. It saved American and Isrealis lives in the long run. Do you think the purveyors of suicide murder would have any compunction using the bomb once they had one?

If the administration has inteelignece indicating that Iran is an imminent nuclear threat to our troops in Iraq or Israle then I would agree with you on destroying that capability.

I think jihadists would launch or light off anything at their disposal.

I suspect that President Bush would look askance at the Israelis if they took out Irans' nuclear facilitites at this point in time but I'm not privy to the facts on the ground.

Remember we have 140,000 pairs of boots on the ground just a hop, kip and a jump from Iran.

Or perhaps someone needs to act BEFORE Iran is an imminent nuclear threat, much like our policy regarding Iraq.

There is also the frightening possibility the Mullahs may purchase a working bomb from Pyongyang in the near future.

On top of this, the Saudis are seeking nuclear capability from the Pakistanis.

I am not usually a doomsayer, but if we do nothing about the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the ME, we just may be doomed.

"Faster please"

I think that the Israli strike in Syria might also have sent them a message. The IAF can reach Iran. All they need is overfly permission from the Coalition in Iraq.

So now we are going to celebrate that Iran is going to stop doing what they were not doing before according to their word because they gave us their word on it?

Bullshirt, bomb the enrichment factorys flat, then you know they will stop.
