Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Thursday told a summit of Islamic leaders that "Jews rule the world by proxy" and the world's 1.3 billion Muslims should unite, using nonviolent means for a "final victory."

Did he really use the word nonviolent, or did the AP just add that part to make the Islamists look like the good guys fighting the evil, capitalist, white United States?

I was wondering about that too. I've never thought about this. What he is saying, or so it seems is that Jews are using the USA to rule the world by proxy.

Two of four correct is a failing grade. It is indisputable that (secular) Jews invented communism (Marx was Jewish) and have had a long-term fascination with both that philosophy and socialism---BUT---the development of democracy and human rights had zip "Jewish roots", have arisen entirely from Western European (that includes the USA, of course) philosophy and political thought.

This reminds me of the bleak, Holocaust era joke wherein one old Jewish man in the park sees another old Jewish man reading the Nazi's newspaper.

Jews may not rule the world, but their contributions to human culture and achievement are so out of proportion to their tiny numbers that it sometimes appears that they have greater influence than they actually do.

While the concepts of human rights was certainly developed in 18th. century Western Europe, democracy is far older having its origins in a number of city-states in anchient Greece.

Bill Gates' wealth is pocket change compared to the reservoir of funds available to some old-world families still extant. Wealth gets to the point where it isn't "wealth" any more but just sheer political power. You trace that "wealth" to the hand which controls it and you have the persons that rule the world.

Gates wouldn't have a tiny fraction of the resources to destroy or fund a nation, or suborn the same and control the direction of its politics.

What is scary to me about this is that the conditions leading up to WWII are re-appearing. Hitler blamed the Jews for the problems of Germany and used them as his justification for launching WWII.

This anti-semitic rhetoric is not constrained solely to the Islamic world, certain European nations have uttereed the same thing.

Jews did not invent communism.
Marx certainly did come from a Jewsh family. Many of his relatives were quite prominent rabbis. However, his father was an assimilated German secularist who became a Lutheran to rise in society. Karl was baptised. His father's disrespect for his ancestral faith influenced Karl's contempt for religion.
I would argue that Karl Marx was quite contemptuous of Judaism. To quote his conclusion in On the Jewish Question

Once society has succeeded in abolishing the empirical essence of Judaism -- huckstering and its preconditions -- the Jew will have become impossible, because his consciousness no longer has an object, because the subjective basis of Judaism, practical need, has been humanized, nd because the conflict between man's individual-sensuous existence and his species-existence has been abolished.

The social emancipation of the Jew is the emancipation of society from Judaism.
