Thus, all the bravery and sacrifices our troops make daily, and the limitless drama and glory of their stories will be totally ignored by those most pampered and snobbish among us. There are not only NO movies currently in development dealing with the war, there are not even any PLANS to make one.Bruce Willis will end up making one, I bet.

The original Run-Away Jury book was about a tobacco case where the guy on the jury got the jury to give this woman a half a billion dollar settlement.
I guess they changed it for the movie as a half a billion verdict over tobacco lost it's appeal after the settlement with the states.

The book was great but it was about tobacco. If you ever need to prove Holywood bias just look here where guns, the latest cause celeb, is the topic and Sum of All Fears where arab terrorists turn into neo nazis.

I am a civil litigator who lives in New Orleans. It is rare that a movie is made about one's profession and set in one's adopted hometown. I was eagerly anticipating watching a tense courtroom drama, I didn't get it. This movie is so divorced from reality it is sickening.
The movie did make good use of the city showing the French Quarter, Uptown, CBD, Mid-City and even New Orleans East.

We now know how you feel about the movie. What did your attorney husband think?

"Bruce Willis will end up making one, I bet." I doubt it. He'd still need to arrange financing for the production (controlled by the Hollywood Left), get a director (ditto) and screenwriter (dittox2) on board, and a supporting cast (dittox3).
Willis is just an actor, after all. He works FOR the people that make movies. If they don't make a Terror War movie, he won't be in one.

Ditto. Hackman is a great actor, but I started noticing the deterioration of movies at the start of the nineties. Where I used to see about ten-fifteen movies a year, I began only going to a few, and they mostly stunk. About five years ago I went to about seven movies in a calendar year, and the best one was mediocre. Most were dreadful. I even hated Lord of the Rings. More like Bored of the Rings.
And today's overt politically liberal-slanted actors, directors, and producers make me puke. Do you think they'd ever make one about leftist, tyrannical college professors? How about male and America-hating feminists? Eco-terrorists? Cop-killing thugs like Mumia? An anti-Castro movie? Bah, of course not. They're all stinking hypocrites.

Grisham's book, Runaway Jury, which the movie is based on is about the cigarette manufacturers being sued. There nothing about guns in the book - so this is Hollywood propaganda!

Rather than go to the movies, our family purchases new release dvd's on Tuesdays. They are considerably cheaper than tickets, popcorn, etc. and we can watch them at our leisure as often as we like. An added bonus - our teenagers invite friends over to watch movies and we know where they are and what they're doing. Finding good movies, however, is indeed a problem. If y'all haven't seen them, may I recommend
Radio with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and
Secondhand Lions with Robert Duval and Michael Caine.
Runaway Jury was so bad and so far from the book's premise, I fell asleep after 30 minutes.
