Court Sanctioned murder of an innocent victim, plain and simple.

She's been in a vegetative state since suffering a heart attack in 1990.

There are so many stories on this. Does anyone know the truth?...Just a question...does ANYONE KNOW the TRUTH??

View these videos and judge for yourself if she's in a "vegetative state":

no body knows the truth, but an estimated thirty percent of people diagnosed as "vegetative state" are not in comas, but awake. And this is a sham case, because they are not offering her food and water--many such people respond to stimulation and become more alert, and many can eat, but have feeding tubes placed because it is easier to feed them via tube than to pay someone to feed them by mouth...as in many cases, the "hired guns" who see the person once have decided she is "vegetative" and the people who nurse her think she is alert...

The bad news is that the husband will benefit from her death: No need to spend money on divorce, and he will inherit her malpractice suit money...

I heard on a talk radio station here in Dallas this morning that he stands to collect 1.6 million.

We need to stop referring to the ADULTERER as the husband.

Reports on her actual condition and prospects are wildly mixed. However, no matter what version of things one reads, it appears that her "husband" is a very slimy sort, anxious to end this more for his own convenience and financial windfall, than because he genuinely believes Terri's condition is hopeless and that she would want to be allowed to die (which he may or may not actually believe).

What I find most troubling about the case is the "medical trust fund" that some insurers had to pay into, the remains of which will go to the husband. That structure is an invitation to abuse, and I can't fathom the legal basis for it (and I have law degree). If Mr. Schiavo convinced a court that he was due some damages for emotional distress, loss of companionship, etc. in connection with Terri's brain damage, then that should have been paid back then. A medical trust fund should be limited to its stated purpose, with any remainder reverting to the party(ies) which was compelled to pay into it.

I'm afraid that if this was my daughter, there would be 2 people die the day they tried to unplug my daughter from any kind of assistance.

The man who tried to unplug the tubes would be the first one. I would probably be the second when the swat team came to murder me and my daughter.

It's getting past time for another open rebellion in this country. Courts deciding who lives and who dies? Let the parents take her home for god's sake. At least they love her enough to want to give her another chance.

You know what is really eating at me about this situation is the fact that Terri's parents have offered to hand over all of the money to Terri's husband if he would only grant them legal guardians of Terri.....well, he won't and that's what gets me. Why is he so afraid of allowing his wife to get better? Did he do this to Terri himself and is trying to cover his sorry a$$? Is he afraid that Terri will be able to tell people what happened should she get better?

If I were Terri's husbands fiance....I'd get myself away from him as fast as possible.

I agree, there's something extremely fishy about this entire situation.

MURDER in the Making - in the Sunshine State! - (Florida)

The Pending Death of Theresa "Terri" Schindler-Schiavo, age 39

- Terri, a L:ikely Victim of Spousal Abuse, may finally be 'terminated' on Wednesday -

"Terri was a sweet girl, very compassionate, caring, and loyal to her family." Later, Terri was married to Michael Schiavo. They were then in a troubled and combative marriage, and Terri was contemplating divorce.

[SEE Nursing Affidavits, Terri's 1991 Bone Scan which shows major trauma, and doctors' testimony of spinal cord neck injury, and NOT a heart attack.]

AFF2 (326kb) - Affidavit of C. Iyer, RN, former caregiver of Terri's from Palm Garden Convalescent Facility
. Excerpt: "Michael would say 'When is she going to die?', 'Has she died yet?', and 'When is that bitch going to die?'."

Her husband Michael has been successful in getting a court order to have her feeding tube removed at 2PM on Wednesday, October 15, unless Governor Jeb Bush is persuaded to intervene. If the feeding tube is removed, this will begin her death by dehydration [and starvation], which is a painful, agonizing and arduous process that may take 10 to 14 days.

I am go9ing to have to agree with you 100%. This case would have never been a case at all if Terri were my daughter. My instinct is to spare my children from any harm and I am sure that that is an instinct that I will never lose.

Today that instinct is stronger than it has ever been. This morning I was driving and my vehicle caught on fire under the dashboard. My 7 yo son was lying in the back seat sleeping. He has been very ill and because his medication knocks him out he did not hear me screaming his name. As I pulled over on the side of the road my first instinct was to get Mason. His door was locked. I had to open the drivers door to unlock my back door. I never "saw" the flames or was never afraid of the smoke. I got him out as the car burned. I KNOW that I would battle the devil himself hand to hand if Terri were my daughter. I would not care who I "took out" to save her. Damn the consequences. In her state, she is as helpless as my child was this morning and it totally sickens me that this is being allowed.

On other threads I have heard some whining about how the law is the law and how we can't overreact and that we must change the law through the appropriate means. I am of the opinion that when the law no longer protects the innocent and seeks to harm them then it is time to damn the law and do what is necessary.

Maybe I am emotional right now but regardless it is how I feel. I am sorry for interjecting personal experience but it is what is shaping my opinion at the present time.

Not an easy situation? Come on Jeb! I supported you as did a lot of us Freepers. You can do better than this. We are counting on you as there isn't anything left for us to do but pray. You are the one in control now. DO SOMETHING.

No apologies needed. They say don't get in between a Woman and her Children.

Friend, you've never seen hell on earth until you get between this Retired Marine and HIS kids.

So once they remove the tube, why can't her parents simply take her home, if the alternative is to let her die slowly??
