Throwing the book at 'em - Al Franken's best-seller out to prove the right is wrong

With that sentence you've identified the Franken perspective ... anarchy toward anything not draped in liberalism. That doesn't require coherency, only tenacity. Even the powers that be in the democrat party would squelch Franken, were they to retake the halls of federal power and be the 'dog on top' because the Frankens of the world don't want order, they want chaos; they don't want personal responsibility to society, they want license to burn theirselves out and society be damned for interrupting the flash. The differences between an Al Franken and a Christopher Hitchens would be instructive in this regard, to expose Franken and his ilk for the immature brats they are.

We (not just FR posters, but Conservatives in general and guys like O'Reilly in particular) have wasted way too much mental energy on this guy. If it hadn't been for O'Reilly's rants, "Lying Liars..." would be struggling to achieve the less than lofty heights reached by the "...Big Fat Idiot" book. In fact, Rush showed just how to handle this guy, ignore him. Rush made mention of the "...Idiot" book a couple of times, but without mentioning Franken and in the context: "Hey, the only way this guy can sell a book is to mention my name". Rush pointedly refused Franken's "challenge" to "debate" in 2000, because he knew that Franken just wanted an opportunity to fire off a bunch of ad hominem one liners on the "Comedy Channel", as opposed to discussing issues. The O'Reilly approach, with all the Leftist Media attention it generated, probably resulted in all the hardcore Leftists in the country making bulk buys of "Lying Liars..." in order to help it hit the NYT bestseller list.
