I think a raid on the hospital is about due, where is the A-team when you need them.

The governor can pardon a man condemned to death, can't he. That's what he can do.

We need to flood Jeb's office asking him to be the protector of the Florida constitution he swore to. He needs to stay this execution!

The Governor can pardon convicted criminals sentenced to death. This is not a criminal matter, it is a civil one.

No rant; purely observation of the powers reserved to the States by the U.S. Constitution, which includes, by the way, the power to make a Supreme Court case out of it.

A federal judge refused to intervene; this is a state matter.

Of course you're ranting, but you're ranting at the wrong person.

Rant at Michael Schiavo and Greer, not Jeb Bush.

Show me, in law, what gives Jeb Bush the authority to countermand a judge's order.

Buddy, I am not on your case.

The point is, there are limits to judicial jurisdictions, much to the surprise of judges who have for too long IMAGINED that they have the last word on what a law means.

THEY DO NOT.

The people of the state have the last word, lawfully, through their democratic-republican - elected legislatures.

The law of the land --- the authority in this land --- derives from the people, through their lawfully chosen representatives.

Judges have only very, very specific authority to address matters undecided, found in the statutes where mankind naturally cannot write well enough to cover all the bases, so to speak.

In addition, the legislative bodies in this land, have the power to decide what will be the jurisdictional limits.

What is the point in worrying about this poor girl's pending demise, when the country is on the edge of relinquishing the sovereignty of the people, to the privileged class of judges?

What? The democratic experiment is over? Because we shall sit and hum tunes while both the Executive and Legislative Branches of government await the Judicial Branch's decisions on all things?

The purpose of the Judicial Branch is NOT to make tokens of the other two. THEY MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for maintaining their power, lest warfare become necessary again, to reassert the sovereignty of the people, long fought hard for after the millenia of experience that man accumulated by the time of Ben Franklin, that for Heaven's sake, is it not about time that we limit government?

Governors have Executive power, not merely administrative or managerial.

If they have the guts.

The Bush Family does not.

How can someone be sentenced to death in a civil matter? None of this makes sense...!

Exactly, I really hope they do have some video tape that can show her responding, that would be awesome.

No one was "sentenced to death" in the manner in which you're thinking. In cases like this, the legal guardian (Michael Schiavo is the legal guardian, and no one else. Not the parents) makes the decision as to whether or not life support will continue in the absence of any explicit "living will" by the person, in this case, Terri.

Mind you, I don't think it's right at all. But those who ask "Why doesn't Jeb do something?" are off-base. he can't do a thing.

Have you seen the clips on her website? They could use those. They show her responding to her mother and smiling. Very touching. I don't know how any judge could rule the way Greer did.

By the way who is her state representitive? and what have they said about it. Where are all of the NOW Gang members standing up for this woman's right to choose? Where are the BLEEDING heart liberal's, the ones who care about starving children, and women's health issues? Where have they been? and why did the German's bomb Pearl Harbor? I have only seen the Compassionate Conservatives on this site and on WND talking about this Woman's right to live.

AC doesn't have to try too hard to look that way, very wasy for him. Actually I think Alan can be brought to the RIGHT on this issue.
