Perhaps the CDC and the Federal Reserve could form a joint task force devoted to driving the price of bread up to $100 a loaf.

I'm sure they're workin' on it.

The more money for farmers routine. The futility of farming on an individual scale. Cheap food equals mega-farms owned by investors and monopolies like Sam McDonald and ADM, wallowing in farm subsidies. Impossible to farm on a smaller scale. It will eventually end up with monopolized food production and food prices which are low now will become astronomical to control distribution. Most food produced will be shipped elsewhere.

Farmer doom and gloom parlez'.

So, rich people are fatter than poor people?

I think studies have shown that lower-income people are usually heavier than wealthier folks, supposedly due to not having access to more nutritional foods and developing a reliance on fast food and junk food. Also, blacks tend to develop diabetes at higher rates than whites, again due supposedly to a lack of access to better foods. But, according to this left-wing logic, we need to raise food prices on poor people and blacks, in order to 'help' them! Makes sense to me. Let's get Dr. Dean to work this into his campaign rhetoric...

People ARE obese because food is cheap and plentiful. The human body was designed for the boom-and-bust lifestyle of the flea-bitten and cave-dwelling.
