Behnke picks up 2 more endorsements:
Jim Behnke, who is running for Congress in Arizona's 8th District against 9-term incumbent Jim Kolbe (RINO) has received two more endorsements. The Arizona Fraternal Order of Police and Arizona Right to Life have announced their endorsements of Mr. Behnke.
Find out more about Jim Behnke and/or donate to his campaign at www.behnkeforcongress.com. Help us toss the RINO out.

I remember John Greene now. When he was President of the Senate he put a moratorium on ALL abortion bills. We in the pro-life community were absolutely livid with him for such a stand - especially since he called himself a Republican. The moratorium was eventually lifted, but only for bills about parental consent. He would not allow any bills attempting to ban things like partial birth abortion and other late-term abortions.
He will not be getting my vote. I will remember in September.

I'm not Mormon, but Matt Salmon has my vote. Apparently the only candidate with enough character to eschew slopping at the public trough for campaign "contributions".
Couldn't access the Behnke website.

Behnke advocates:
Using the US military to assist the Border Patrol in keeping drugs, terrorists and illegal immigrants from entering the country.
Disagree:
Drug use is bad; the War On Drugs is worse.
Withdrawing American troops from Bosnia and Kosovo.
Agree:
US should have (volunteer) troops stationed only within the confines of our borders.
Supporting the Second Amendment "without reservation." This amendment concerns "the right to bear arms."
Agree:
We should be able to defend ourselves against our greatest threat: our own government.
Supporting traditional family values and the Boy Scouts in their moral leadership goals.
Disagree:
When is it government's business to support private organizations?
Supporting the "Right to Life"
(read Psalm 139, v.13-16.)
Disagree:
I am 100% pro-life, anti-abortion. But it ain't government's business.
Eliminating the "off-set" to the military widow's retirement plan. Since your husband paid hefty premiums each month to insure you, you ought to receive the full benefit.
Disagree:
It isn't government's business to provide "retirement plans".
Increasing Social Security benefits by distributing potential surplus funds, should there be any, among current recipients.
Disagree:
Social Security, ANOTHER gubment boondoggle, should be eliminated.
Conclusion:
Behnke doesn't get my vote.

Your points are well taken, however you're wrong on some of the issues and Behnke's precise position. Although, his website could be better in explaining his views.
That being said, I know that Behnke is not the perfect conservative. However, Kolbe is far far FAR worse. In the Republican Primary the most conservative choice is Behnke. I mean, if it was a crime to be a conservative, Kolbe's charges would be dropped for lack of evidence.

Spiff,
You seem to be a hell-of-nice person.
