Vance will be fine if we manage to hang on to the House of Representatives (a challenging task based on historical trends and the existing narrow margin).
If we have a bad mid-term all bets are off and the nomination is wide open....

I worked with a Hindu. Aside from not being terribly open with technical knowledge, he was a fine person. Not sure what issue you find with Hindus?
I am convinced AOC will be the Democrat nominee.

Usha is a lawyer. Her father is a mechanical engineer. Her mother is a molecular biologist. So she grew up in a upper-middle class lifestyle in San Diego.
JD had to scrape to get to where he is today. His family literally had nothing in Appalachia.
It’s simple. Vance is stronger for the primary but Rubio would much stronger in the general. 28 is as important as 24.

Hard to imagine a modern, US educated person believes in the Hindu gods in a literal sense. I don’t see very many modern Italians worshipping Jupiter.

Potentially, the ceiling is higher with Rubio because he'll do better with independents while keeping the MAGA coalition intact.
I just think that it's worth noting, as a warning if nothing else, that our country which used to at least claim to be primarily Christian is now becoming a mixture of atheist/agnostic/Hindu/Buddhist/Muslim.

I do not think “they” (which presumably means the big donors) get to pick the Democrat nominee this time so it won’t matter what “they” think.
For the Democrats I expect rank and file high turnout and high engagement carrying AOC through primary season.
No “rational” calculus will be involved—just leftist passion.
