Might still be the media story even with the video.
Maybe Sanger kinda had a good idea
“It doesn’t end well” means the violent attacker was shot dead, not merely arrested and released by a judge a few hours later with the criminal’s record completely expunged.
So the title’s rather misleading here.
“I wish they would just start cuffing these protesters to each other and leave them in place.”
One way, but I don’t think it would be workable. If they did something illegal enough to be detained, then give them the full extent of the law. Our penal system is not there to punish as much as use the punishment to deter behavior. If the punishment is not strong enough, then the behavior will continue as they figure they won’t get caught or they won’t be hurt enough by the follow on. Make it hurt enough to make the perpetrator think. And that’s all that can be done.
This is why people riot and loot during “protests.” They know they will make bail and never be seen again. And even if they are, the price they get for the TV they stole will cover the fine. And if they don’t get caught, the booty sale will cover that cruise to the Bahamas. And someone will have to pay that loss. The consumer, like you and me, will either through the cost of needed new police by taxes, or a raise in the price of products to cover their increased insurance rate. Domino effect.
It’s easier and cheaper to just let them go so they will do it again, or worse. Put some teeth in the law...make it hurt to victimize people.
