That one belongs in her hall of fame of hilarious lies.
I always thought that was crazy too. She explained that she was a Cubs fan, and that the Cubs were in the National League. And she said she wanted an American League team to root for, and chose the Yankees. This ignores the fact that Chicago has an American League team, the White Sox.
Yes I know that in Chicago, there tend to be Cub fans and Sox fans and not too much overlap. I’ve been there; I used to live in Chicago. But I knew some people who were fans of both teams, and based on her own explanation that she wanted an American League team to root for in addition to the Cubs, it seems bizarre to me that she would bypass her own hometown American League team in her search for an American League favorite team.
Or was she prescient; that she knew she would be a carpetbagger senator from New York decades in the future?
Or it’s possible she just made the whole story up.
No offense to Californians here, but considering pretty much all of the current California office holders I am aware of, and governors and senators going pretty far back, I think it’s a good thing California hasn’t been able to project nationally.

I remember when Obama was going around saying his favorite ball team was the Detroit Tigers. When asked in public who his favorite Tigers player was, he couldn't name a one. Bunch of phonies, but their base doesn't care.

He also had said he went to see the White Sox play at “COMIN-SKY” Park, pronouncing it with an “N” in it. Every real Sox fan knows that the played at “Comiskey Park”, which does not have an “N”.
As we know, Democrat gaffes just don’t get picked apart and criticized as do Republican ones.
