Looking forward, while Veep Mike Pence has proven to be a loyal ally in MAGA, I doubt he has the desire to assume the mantle of PDJT’s legacy.

We have to be honest. President Trump is a sheer force of nature and his charisma is off the charts. I don’t see anyone else able to galvanize the electorate the way he has.

Still unclear whether any of the older Trump offspring are Constitutionally eligible to run to succeed their father (their mother Ivana did not become a citizen until after Eric was born).

The only viable candidate might be Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who certainly was a vast improvement over Tillerson.

Its not simply a matter of the next Candidate.. its a matter of money etc...

Trump was able to do what he did with little money, and he had his own to tap.... Because he was already a household name and very adept at TV etc.

Next guy, whoever it is, will need money, and lots of it.... The GOP needs to move away from the dependency on KOCH/Chamber of Commerce, and the other establishment GOP money... they need to be the patriotic party... and they can’t be that if they are beholding to the old GOPE money men...

MAGA is simply Patriotic/Jingoist world view... Anyone running that will win more often than lose, but the GOP money men are NOT, and have no desire for it.. they profit from Globalism... so until the GOP finds alternate money, I don’t see a long term change, no matter who is the nominee....

Without the financial backers to go with it, GOP will go right back to their globalism light ways once Trump is gone.

I tend to agree with you, that once President Trump leaves office (after two terms, please, Dear Lord), the GOP will feel comfortable reverting back to their globalist ways.

Hopefully, some wiser, more patriotic financiers will emerge to boost the prospects of those who genuinely care about putting our nation’s best interests first.

Fighters like PDJT are few and far between.

I always think of that iconic photo of PDJT shaking hands with Reagan, who actually remarked that he thought he was the one shaking hands with the president. The Gipper recognized Trump’s great potential back then.

Today, I fail to see anybody comparable to Donald Trump at that time, from which the proverbial torch of leadership might be passed.

Who could PDJT shake hands with today???

I notice the sample sized get smaller and smaller in comparison to the population. Are news media just too cheap or is it just that difficult to get people to respond?

I know you go over to Drudge these days and feel like killing yourself. Manufacturing hit a new low - apparently.

I read this and hope he is right. What we cannot take for granted is what happened in 2016. The electorate is not the same. Hillary didn't go to key states. They won't repeat that mistake. For us worry warts, the polls were dead on in 2018 the Democrat media is pounding Trump on everything including his hairstyle, even more than 2016.

The election may come down to the economy and the Chinese know this and that is why they are waiting it out for now, get a deal and Trump wins. No deal and it will be tough. I suspect it is why it is the one issue Democrats are supporting Trump on-stay tough with Chinese-because they would like no deal and the economy to tank so they can win, they are just about power now. IF Biden gets the nomination look for him to add a woman who is either Black or Hispanic. That's because the democratic voter is all about block voting.

What is really going on is the increasing demographic or ethnic block voting for Dems- that is the real story, and challenge for GOP. Without the block voting of African American’s (93% + for Dems+ and especially Hispanic Americans-approaching 70%,) CA would still be the state that elected Reagan governor and nationally the Dems would have a little over 100 seats and about 10-12 Senate seats. At Least Hispanics don't vote 90% dems

Just look at the states won by Trump,he won 32 states but only 4 have a population of Hispanic voters over 13%. Clinton by contrast won 28 states and only 5 had a Hispanic population of under 13%.

In CA, the Hispanic Population is now about 40% (and yes fueled by illegal immigrants and higher birth rate )and African American 12%.

This demographic shift and resulting voting trend is what is going on in early stages in Nevada, Az, Fl and now Texas. Colorado is now over 20% Hispanic and now a dem state, Nevada over 29% and voting solidly blue. I believe this is why the dems are for illegal immigration-it gets them votes and power.

We need to address, its like trying to win a basketball game where the other team gets to start with a 20 point lead so we cannot pretend we can win without Hispanics or fall for the “its just white liberals” myth or the entire country will be CA
