Twenty years ago, I would’ve agreed, but four years ago, Ken Cuccinelli, as conservative as they come, lost to the reprehensible McAuliffe. The northern regions near DC have dragged this state leftward for statewide elections. Fortunately, the state Senate and House of Delegates, firmly in GOP hands, kept Bagman Terry under control.
