I would say the Republican Party is just as riven as the Democrats. The Republican divide between the globalists and the Nationalists is just as huge as the Democrat divide with one exception. The globalist, while in complete control of the party and it’s main propaganda engines (Fox News and Rush Limbaugh as prime examples) are just tiny minority of the Republican Party as a whole. Ryan is the power broker for the globalists and needs to be taken down.

“The problem is, he’s now the de facto leader of a party that has embraces his socialism but written off the white working class, which it needs to win national elections."

Most socialism models assume SOMEONE is working.

Nobody should doubt that what you project cannot happen. We came damn close 2016, I think that would have set the ship sailing with very little chance of recovery. As it is, IMO the odds favor that bleak socialist future. They always do, this is IMO the natural tendency, particularly whilst the conservative side wants as little to do w/gov’t as possible and wants it out of their lives; while the other side is always working to infest government and seeks its power, influence and control at every opportunity.
