Hillary took off almost the whole month of August....it did not go unnoticed.
Hillary campaigned as hard as she could and it almost killed her. If she had done anything more she would have self destructed. People were on to the body doubles so she really couldn’t use them.
Dems had too much faith in the strength of their “blue wall”. Now that they see that they don’t enjoy the electoral advantage they thought they enjoyed, the electoral college is racist and unfair and we need a direct popular vote.

There’s ALWAYS an implication in these articles that Hillary dropping into a state will increase her numbers.
While that was certainly true with Trump, given his supporters (i.e., it’s difficult to see anyone leave a Trump rally without being willing to go out of their way to vote for him) I always wondered about that with Hillary.
Perhaps their internal polling showed that it’s better to simply flood the airwaves with air-brushed commercials, than to force Working Class men to have to confront the raw deal...and so, they kept her out of those areas.
If I’m right, eventually someone will spill that...but it may be a while.

And when they had her attend an early-morning memorial on the anniversary of 9/11, she left before it was over and still ended up having a seizure before they could manage to get her loaded into her van.
There was no way she could have done much more in the way of campaigning.

I will credit Nate Silver for dealing with the fact that the Electoral College determines the outcome of the election (and that Trump was focused like a laser beam on the Electoral College while Hillary was not.
But he misses the point. The point is polls indicated a majority of Americans prefer less government to more. Consistent with this, the election showed a majority favored Trump + Johnson + McMullin + lesser conservative candidates; and, that the Republicans won the nationwide popular vote in the Congressional races.
To show how crazy the vote in California was, the combined center-right vote versus the combined center-left vote would have won all the Trump states PLUS: ME (at large), NH, MN, NM, CO and NV. An electoral college landslide.
They still won’t admit that the reason Hillary lost is....no one likes her!
She could’ve campaigned her heart out in those states and still lost.
