An audio recording of Cruz insulting Trump behind closed doors to his donors is much worse.
Now it’s obvious from this tweet Cruz thinks Trump is stupid.

Both of them are extremely smart .. and I wouldn’t put it past them to hook the media in the nose and drag them around a little bit .. just to show that they can ..!!!!
The story about Cruz attacking Trump was a total lie.
It’s pretty obvious that a lot of the posters that re-appear every four years are not actually Freepers, but rather paid posters.
A lot of the disrupters trying to gin up a Trump-Cruz feud were Romney supporters or disrupters trying to stir dissent amongst Conservatives 4 years ago.

Ted Cruz has enough dirt on him that he would be the one to lose. Nobody expects Trump to be perfect, but then Cruz is running as the perfect, serious, true conservative. That's why he's so easy to pick off.

People claim that, but it's not a lie. The recording is available in its full context, and it's clear what Cruz was saying. People trying to claim it was innocuous have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to make the claim.
Ted Cruz does not really need to attack Trump to win. He needs Carson to implode(already happening) and pick up Carson’s numbers and get Carson to endorse him. That’s it.
If you don't see that Cruz is clearly declaring that Trump is unfit to be President, to have his "finger on the button," then you won't see it no matter how obvious it is.
I've wondered that myself. I'm thinking maybe Cruz wanted to get an idea of the reactions of his and Trump's supporters. There was a delay between the "leak" of what Cruz allegedly said and the "leak" of the video. Why?
If it WAS a purposeful leak by Cruz, I would bet enough people gave them an earful and admonishment to avoid a brawl at all costs and work together. I swear, if they start fighting each other, they're going to throw it to Hillary. That's how strongly i feel about that.
And of course the media was there to jump on any sign of a potential dogfight. That's the only predictable thing this entire election season!
