And who will be the lucky missing 10th candidate on stage at the Fox debate, one more person needed on your polling chart. Who is it going to be?

“I’m happy he’s getting the attention he has...it’s good for everybody....and I hope he can last awhile longer as well. That will depend on how the media decides....right now he’s great press.”

Trump will use the press just as much as they will try to use him. If they try to cut him off, he will generate news that it will be impossible to ignore. The press will lose this time around to a master manipulator of it, Donald Trump.

Missing the recent Economist/YouGov and the Rooooters/Ipsos polls where Trump is ahead and tied.

Over the years, I've seen RealClearPolitics has a bad habit of not showing polls they don't like and using obscure polls to bump their favorite Demrat or RINO candidates. Always fudging the results.

“If you’re used to success in a non-political field, you can become very impatient in dealing with politicians and really make a mess of things.”

Or you can really get things done. The Donald is a doer. He doesn’t make a mess of things, hence his great success. Plus if you don’t think making deals like he does in the business world isn’t political, you’re smoking something. I’m sure you must understand the great finess necessary to making a good business deal. He will make a great politician as in many ways he already is one.

6 months from now; any poll that was taken today will be completely irrelevant.

“LoL Carter once led Reagan by 30 percent plus.”

I’m not disputing you, as I remember pretty much the same, but do you have a link?

It is CRITICAL that people understand that firebrands ALWAYS look like they’re going to get creamed...but very often win, sometimes by LANDSLIDES, as in Reagan.

“Have another. Mondale had H.W. Bush by about 20% in January 1988.”

...and now, THE REST OF THE STORY.

In case you don’t remember, I do. There was a poll done about that time - it showed that the public perceived MONDOLE as more conservative than HW Bush. Lee Atwater, who was the Karl Rove of his day, but could actually help a candidate win, saw that poll and IMMEDIATELY knew that Bush had to prop up his conservative creds. So, “No New Taxes” and then, after some help from an insane Supreme Court, he visited an American Flag factory (back then, we still made some of our flags, rather than importing them all from China).

Mondole never knew what hit him...and Bush won a convincing victory (1988). Atwater got sick because of a brain tumor (and later died). He was unable to keep HW Bush looking like a conservative (which is what he needed to do), so Bush got rolled by Richard Darman and the other Establishment types in his cabinet...and had NOTHING TO OFFER against Bill Clinton, or even H. Ross Perot, in 1992.

Yes, and there should be other polls out there where Carter led by substantial amounts in early polling.

Here's one -

"Poll: Carter 63, Reagan 32"

Polpudit.com http://polipundit.com/?p=36246

I think the link they cite is now obsolete, but you can read the comments.
