“Unless I change my mind, I wont be voting for Romney either.”
Looks like the DNC strategy to split the conservative vote won, then.
You and me both brother. Barrio Beretto here I come.
“I too want a third party NOW. The GOP can stick it!”
I’ve tried to be rational about this and consider all the ramifications. I know Rush and others have warned us that 3rd party is not the way to go. But I’m coming to the conclusion that we have no other choice. If we end up with Romney as the nominee, what do we have to lose, really? I mean, even Soros said it, Romney being elected is not much different from having Obama, so why not build a new party now and call it the Conservative Party (or whatever).
I just don’t know how many more chances you give the GOP establishment to learn their lesson before you throw them overboard and start fresh. This might just be the year that the GOP goes the way of the Whigs into the permanent minority. It will be painful for our country, but unfortunately if enough GOP voters are stupid enough to buy into voting for Romney as a legitimate conservative, then we will get what we deserve...
YUUUUUUUP!
It was decided some time ago that neither OldPossum and Mrs. OldPossum would vote for Romney. We recognize disaster when we see it.
But we will vote for Republicans downticket with the exception of that RINO Eric Cantor. Another one that turns our stomachs.
“Looks like the DNC strategy to split the conservative vote won, then.”
Amen.
Philippines. We go Joe! 1000 Islands or Palawan. Talaga!
Write in whomever for the top slot.
From there on down vote for true conservatives or write in true conservatives.
The solution really comes from the bottom up. Take the precinct or ward, take the city, take the county, take the state. You’ve seen what you get from the top down.
By then the Republican establishment will wonder what hit them.
The only bad action is inaction!
ifyou fail to vote for ANYONE who has a chance to defeat Obama, I question your sincerety for the future of America.
My wife is a Filipina and I was in Manila and a small barangay (Bolila) on Mindanao two years ago.
Unfortunately Rosetta Stone doesn't offer Tagalog, and Liza loses patience with my failing memory.
OK, if that's your plan, I should say up front that civil wars are NOT civil. This primary season has revealed a lot about who our enemies are within the Republican Party. They have cast their lot with the forces of tyranny and the Evil One. They will have to be destroyed along with the enablers and supporters of the Evil One. These will be dark days and many will perish.
Romney has no chance to beat Zero.
Period.
I have said many times at FR that I won’t vote for Romney. I am glad to see others truly won’t either.
I’m a registered non-party person. I have no loyalty to the GOP. I will vote down ticket all conservative and either skip the Prez. or write in a name. I saw someone say Gone Galt. That is humorous, and might be an appropriate message.
Will 4 years of Romney be an improvement over 4 more with Obama? That is assuming that down ticket stays in the direction of Nov. 2010. With Romney as front, it won’t. Too many discouraged and apathetic voters. Also, that is assuming that Romney can beat Obama. He can’t. He’s too rich and too Mormon— Obama will use those two facts and take him down faster than the Titanic.
Solution:
First— we fight now, and we fight hard. Time for all hands on deck. Who are your contacts in the current primary state? For me, I can contact like-minded church organizations. Point out the problems with a Romney nomination. Facebook everyday why Romney is a bad choice. Join Twitter. I don’t want to, but it’s a must. Get your message to the media via twitter. Tell MSM you aren’t going to control us. Move on to the next state and the next and keep contacting, facebooking and twittering and even blogging! Attack Mitt with the full force of the conservative voice. If every conservative influences just their own circle of influence, Mitt is out. WE HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THIS.
Second— let the primary run it’s course. I wish Perry had not dropped out. I wish he’d get back in. I wasn’t his supporter but we need lots of choices. it keeps the message alive and takes votes AWAY FROM Romney. That’s the goal at this point! Keep votes away from Romney!!! So we need to support all conservatives. I will vote for Santorum in my primary, but in my advocating, I am advocating AWAY from Romney.
Third— if Romney gets the nom. we’ll all have to follow our heart at that point. It is important that we don’t butcher other conservatives and keep trying to win the message. The alternative is civil war. I don’t want that option. I want to give the political process a chance. It might take 50 years, but it is an investment worth making.
That’s my two cents-— well maybe it was more like 10 cents-— but anyway. FWIW
Or vote for Obama, and conservative congress and house and fight him. If Romney is in the WH, a repub. congress and house would be more likely to go along with what Romney would propose.
Correct! The House is OURS! The Senate, not so much. The only voice the elites will listen to are those WE send to Congress. Even then, they could care less.
We need the House of Representatives to block any and every non-conservative piece of legislation until the government is forced to shut down- then we'll be listened to. John Boehner is a pussy when we need a pissed-off Bengal Tiger. Not good. Get rid of him, STAT!
The Fix is In. We've lost control of our country. Dole was a clue, McCain was exhibit A, and Romney is spit in our faces- followed by laughter.
F*ck 'em, we can still choke their asses with the purse-strings, but first we have to get rid of that crybaby Boehner. Then, maybe we can "mandate" they follow the Constitution for a change. Doesn't matter who's in the White House or Senate- cut 'em off at the knees, the bitches.
Oh, and if that doesn't work you're on your own. See, the Fed Debt Bubble (remember the housing bubble?) will explode regardless who's vacating at Martha's Vineyard next year. Your dollars will be worth their weight in feathers if we don't get a hold on things.
That was a very good article.
I haven’t read the thread comments yet, but DO want to offer my opinion.
In spite of the fact that many Conservatives/Tea Partiers are not thrilled with the Pub candidates this year, what IS important is to vote to elect the most Conservative candidates to the House and Senate!
If we can achieve majorities in both, we can much better control a weak Rino or socialist Dem POTUS.
