Guarding Mr. Cain

Regardless of whether or not you think he should be president do you really think it’s appropriate to make light of someone who’s had himself and his family receive death threats? The request has to approved by homeland security. That means they have to investigate to see if the threat is imminent and credible. Would you have the same snarky response if he or someone in his family really were shot?

Whether you like him or not his family certainly hasn’t done anything to deserve death threats. I understand the back & forth between supporters of different candidates, I really do. This is a critical election and everyone has solid reasons to support the candidate they’ve chosen. All of us, regardless of how heated it gets, love this country and that’s the reason everyone is so passionate. But have we really lost our moral compass, our Christian compassion for our brothers and sisters in Christ?

Perhaps we should all follow Rick Perry’s example at the Iowa presidential summit. Despite the fact there’s no love lost between Perry & Cain, as Cain was recounting his bout with cancer, Perry put his hand on Cain’s shoulder as gesture of comfort and compassion towards another human being whose life was threatened (albeit by disease instead of people).

As a two-time cancer survivor I empathize with him and I appreciate your point. However, I never said he shouldn’t have SS protection if he and his family have actually had death threats. Nor did I say he should not be President. I really don’t understand why you came at me with those accusations.

Perhaps I misunderstood but your comment sounded sarcastic. None of the conservative candidates (IMO that’s everybody but Romney, Huntsman & Paul) have very little in common with 0bama.
