Time will tell.. I never speculate on VP, because the decisions for that are too mired in silliness IMHO.
However, just to think it outloud, I don’t think Newt needs Cain to prove his “conservative credentials”... And honestly Cain doesn’t IMHO bring much to the table.. if Cain’s support remains at 10-20% even after its obvious he’s lost the nomination, then maybe he brings something to the table worth considering, but I highly doubt that will be the case.
Yet, the msm is still printing her name.
Its not hate, just my honest assessment of the guy.
I know folks are desperate to find their Reagan, but Cain sure as hell ain’t even close to Reagan... No one in the 2012 class is, pure and simple.
This guys handling of these allegations is amateurish at best, I don’t want another 3rd stringer in the White House, and based on how he’s handled this situation he sure as hell doesn’t come across as the go to guy.
I don’t hate the guy, just don’t see anything out of him, I see a lot of folks projecting what they want him to be, much like folks did with Obama in ‘08, but I just don’t see it out of the man himself.
I was just thinking the same thing when i watched Fox last night
No, Newt is smart, McCain wasn’t. Newt is a savvy southern politician in the mold of Clinton. He will be a great president or Vice President. He will not be a new Reagan—he will be his own man but—in his way great. Think Churchill rather than Lincoln. In any case he will be leaps and bounds over Obama.
I’m from Georgia ... or at least I lived there for 18 years and I’ll tell you this much ... MOST Georgians do not like Newt Gingrich and would not want to be placed in a position of having to vote for him because they’re voting against Obama.
Newt is an ‘old school’ GOP mainliner who is into cozying up to Democrats if it achieves HIS agenda. Politics makes strange bedfellows ... and Gingrich’s political bed has had lots of strangers in it.
PS that was not a sexist remark so please do not ban me from Free Republic.
Newt is a historian; he’s not Presidential.
The second the MSM thought Newt was going to be the GOP Candidate, they’d be hauling his ex-wife and a boat load of women who allegedly knew him when out to parade in front of the media cameras.
The ONLY reason they’re trying to besmirch Herman Cain is because they’re afraid that WE THE PEOPLE are going to influence the GOP and Reince Priebus to support him.
The MSM only skewers politicians they’re afraid of ... and they poke at those they want the public to think they’re afraid of. And We The People are onto their ALINSKY tactics: 9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” 4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
I favor Cain, if he falters due to gaffes then Gingrich is who I will support.
His proposals on his website are very good IMO. He seems to have tried to clean up his life with his conversion to Catholicism, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt on that.
His biggest weakness is being a party politician, the Dede situation, but this is a fault most politicians have (see Santorum.
He would destroy Obama in the debates and he is not Romney. By the time I can vote in NJ the nominee will probably be decided anyway.
Whoever emerges as to anti Romney at the end of the year is who we need to rally around, currently I see that as Cain, Gingrich, Perry in that order.
Apparently not.
You are no good for the cause.
Unfortunately, many so-called “conservatives” are more than willing to sacrifice America for sure losers Mitt and Rick.
Yyup. Newt is part of the Establishment, just like McCain.
Last night's debate was anything but a debate.
Hate to burst your bubble, but I have listened to all of them, As well as Michael Medved, Gerry Doyle, NPR, NFL, CBS, ABC... etc etc etc..
To suggest that because I don’t agree with your conclusions that I am uninformed or not good for the cause is foolishness.
The definition of a Zealot is a person who doesn’t know who their friends are, and for you to suggest that I don’t agree with you that I am somehow not a conservative or bad for the cause is beyond idiotic.
Well if this is true, it will be obvious during the one on one debates that are supposed to happen. Gingrich can intellectually wipe the floor with anyone one on one, so if he basically, to borrow a wrassling term, “puts Cain over” during their one on one, then you know its a team effort, or at the very lease Gingrich is propping up Cain, without his knowledge.
I personally am not ready to give another neophite the white house, regardless of party affiliation, the mess the current one has made is too big for that.
