With all respect, I must say we are birdwalking here! My original thought was not about General Grant but about us! We are just like all those Union officers who thought Lee was superhuman when we attribute similar powers to the Olberman, Dionne, Behar and yes, even Bubba Clinton. We “have the enemy by the nose and its time to kick him in the ass” a la Patton instead of doubting ourselves every darn day over every idiotic thing that gets spewed by Ed Schultz,Rachel Maddow or any other marginal “media peronality”

I have to believe it is God and men and women doing God's will which will keep our representatives pure and obeying the Constitution. I say it is God and men and women doing God's will to keep our representative pure because, I believe the majority of our elected and unelected have no intent on keeping their oaths to God or their oaths to the people. I believe it may be by design this takes place, on earth, and I believe also, many do not know the attraction or fail to recognize the attraction being placed before our representatives by the evil one and fail to recognize the evil ones' power over men and women.

Excellent post, and yes, I called three reps on Friday to express my objections to this visual dilution of the hard fought Republican victory to control of the congress. Dems had no interest whatsoever in bipartisanship over the past six years and even engaged in a lock out of Republicans.
Agree with your "thesis", it's hard scoring points when you're always playing defense. Time for ball control, as they say in football.
There's no substitute for a crushing victory.
