Golly gee... so nice of Salon to be so worried about the poor GOP in this primary cycle.

You can almost feel the angst they feel for the misunderstood RINOs.

>"if O'Donnell does prevail, it will represent the Tea Party's most destructive (to the GOP) triumph yet. "

Is there really any difference between GOP and DNC in this race?

No wonder the writer keeps getting them confused!

You can almost feel the angst they feel for the misunderstood RINOs.

...

the Tea Party movement -- which essentially represents the disgruntled base of the GOP -- has forced enough fringe candidates on the party in enough marginal races to jeopardize the GOP's chances

...

Christine O'Donnell, a far-right gadfly and chronic debtor

...

Rep. Michael Castle, a nine-term congressman and former two-term governor

...

O'Donnell, previously known only for waging a series of hopeless, quixotic campaigns

...

O'Donnell would make an absurdly easy mark for Democrat Chris Coons

...

Castle recognized that with his impeccable establishment credentials, long service in government, and flexible ideology, he could be vilified by the Tea Partiers

Bah, thats enough. I'd say he doesn't like us very much. I love the term "flexible ideology".

LOL! Yeah, “flexible ideology”... That’s a sure winning point!

I guess that translates as “he bends over very nicely when we tell him to grab his ankles and get ready for some hot and heavy bipartisanship”.

If one doesn’t understand Greek they shouldn’t try to speak it. Liberals don’t understand conservatism and they shouldn’t try to advise on it. Liberals see politics as power seeking and the exercising of power. Principles mean nothing to liberals, just numbers.

Give Delaware a real choice. We’ll abide by the outcome.

O’Donnell’s lead in Sunday’s poll is a slim three points, 47 to 44 percent, and given the tiny Republican primary universe in Delaware, there’s probably a lot of wiggle room in those numbers.

Now the WaPo is more reliable than Fox on this race. Fox over the weekend reported a 30 point lead for Castle. Not kidding.

All this commentary ignores the best outcome. Delaware leans Republican right now in polling per Rasmussen. We can get a conservative Senator.

Last poll I saw showed 0 with a 55% approval in DE. Similar to here in CT. You can’t fight stupid, it seems. So it is hard to see how O’Donnell can win but stranger things have happened.

It quite possibly does. Know what? That’s still a victory. Better 50 Republicans and no RINOs than 51 Republicans including 1 RINO.

* RINOs are contagious.
* RINOs always get the news coverage.
* RINOs make Republicans get blamed for failed Democrat policies (Crash of ‘08, anyone?)
* RINOs make it harder for conservatives to win the seat next time around.
* RINOs convince urban social conservatives that social conservatism is just something the Republican Party fakes to fool “stupid hicks and rednecks.”
* RINOs use their position to make lefty crap “bipartisan”
* RINOs use their position to discredit conservatives... “See, even reasonable Republicans support [socialist cause]; [So-and-so] is an extremist.”

AND MOST ASTOUNDINGLY...

* RINOs work their asses off to prevent conservatives from getting elected.
