As I mentioned when this was posted earlier, about an hour ago, why would she deliberately sideline herself? Why would she go along with people who want to sideline her? What the RNC needs is someone who is low profile and effective, in the mold of Haley Barbour. The RNC chairmans function is to get Republicans elected, not to make statements and take controversial positions on public policy.
I agree, at least as far as Sarah Palin is concerned. She needs to continue speaking for herself, and not tied to a RNC position. Fred Thompson would be good, seeing he's no longer active in politics, but his friendship with McCain is a little troublesome to me.
Ping!
Thompson's clearly the best person for the job, in my estimation. But, I think he'd rather act, for whatever reason. Party Chairman is tough, demanding job.
I agree. The problem with the RNC chair today is that he's far too outspoken and often laughably so. Her taking the position and using it properly would effectively muzzle her. We need her independence.
I’d like to see Fred doing more than he’s doing...that’s for sure. Plus, I’d like for him to STOP doing those stupid commercials for REVERSE mortgages. He’s losing some major credibility due to those ads.
With that said... it’s hard for me to comprehend why he didn’t get more support during his bid for the Presidency.
Never happen; makes too much sense.
The cold, hard facts are that the position of RNC chairman usually leads you on to a better job as a used car salesman, process server, or maybe even Governor of a poor Southern state.
The DNC chairman usually does little better ~ McAuliffe lost a lot of money trying to get a job as Virginia Governor, and former Governor Howard Dean of Vermont could probably run for Governor again ~ but I don't think he cares for the job.
Rarely does a RNC or DNC chairman show up in the top 10 political commenter but several of them have become Postmaster General!
I think the move into RNC chair would permanently remove Sarah Palin from any future she might have as a Republican.
Ditto and ditto. This is a transparent attempt to get her to “sit down and shut up”, as RNC Chair she’s have to embrace some policies she doesn’t personally support, regurgitate the “party line” rather the speaking her own mind, and give up the ability to generate substantial income for her family.
Anyone who takes this suggestion seriously doesn’t have a clue.
I’m a loan officer with a Federally Chartered Bank who does mortgages in all 50 states and DC. What’s wrong with seniors over 62 years of age taking out a portion of their equity to use as they see fit? With a reverse mortgage they have no further payments and get to keep the home until the passing away of both borrowers (in the case of a couple). No loan product is beneficial for everyone, but many older people have limited retirement income.
Please Sarah DO NOT bite on the Piece of rotting flesh that IS the “RNC”! They SUCK!
I dont like this idea at all. I like Sarah free to distinguish between conservatives and RINOs.
As for Mitt, I wouldn’t mind him at the RNC instead of on the presidential trail. He has proved himself a genius at raising money.
Sorry for that mixed up reply. I must've used the wrong html tag. Here's what I wanted to say...
Anyone who takes this suggestion seriously likely wants her gagged.
The democrats would be very happy if Sarah took any position but the one she should choose, and thats to be POTUS.
Hilary already has her flying monkey’s out doing dirty deeds, gonna be the catfight of the century with Sarah Palin going against Hilary Clinton.
I didn't mean to imply that he was lazy, or that I think he's lazy. But, he was on the View a few weeks ago as well as the Daily Show, and he made it pretty clear his political life was over, at least to the extent of doing it every day.
I just don't think he wants the grueling hours it takes to be a successful Party Chairman.
The RNC Chair would be a great spot for Pissant’s buddy - Duncan Hunter, Sr. I tease Pissant a lot, but on this I am as serious as a heart attack.
