Take your pick.
None of the above.
Easy for you to say, you're not in California. I'll be voting for whoever isn't Jerry Brown.

Shows a lack of principles for someone so conservative. There was a very right-wing conservative McClintock could have supported - Naritelli.

Business people always line the pockets of people on both sides of the aisle who may make decisions affecting their business. However, you conveniently left out all of the GOP people to whom Whitman donated much more substantial amounts including, Pat Toomey, the RNC, the CA GOP , Rob Portman, McCain/Palin, Romney, David Harmer, David Dreir etc....

Also you leave out Poizner's most unconscionable act... when partisan fever was at its highest, he supported Al Gore during the Bush-Gore recount!

Steve Poizner is a Ronnie(Reagan)-come-lately to the Republican Party as it has been discovered that Poizner donated money to the Gore/Leiberman Recount Committee in 2000.

IRS records* confirm that Mr. Poizner gave the hefty sum of $10,000 to the recount effort, a fund to which Jane Fonda is also listed as having donated $100,000. Records also show that Poizner donated $1,000 to Al Gore's run for president as well as $2,000 to John Kerry's.

Mister your name is hypocrite, McClintock endorses the most conservative of the two viable candidates in a race while you are promoting the most liberal, and you huff because you want to pretend that McClintock should have endorsed some guy that isn't really in the race at all.

If you are conservative then follow McClintock's lead and support Poizner, or go ahead and support that Naritelli that you think is candidate for those with "principles", but don't vote for Whitman.

"In 1999, campaign finance records show that Whitman gave mostly to GOP causes and donated $1,000 to George W. Bush, although at least two news reports listed her as endorsing Gore. After she appeared at Gore's side at an event that year, she told The Chronicle that she had donated to both presidential candidates and did not intend to take sides in the race.

You are joking, right? Poizner is NO conservative. And, most importantly, Poizner is no fiscal conservative, which is most important for CA right now.

Sorry, Tom made a huge mistake. Nobody's perfect.

No your mistake is supporting the most liberal republican in the race, which reflects your politics.

Tom McClintock did not make a mistake, he looked at the two candidates and chose the most conservative one that could win.

I know that you, Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman are against the immigration law just implemented in Arizona for instance.

That is utterly false. Anyone who would support Al Gore in the Gore/Bush recount, like Poizner did, is no conservative. California's Bill Jones (who endorsed Whitman), said as much.

Secondly, neither I, or Whitman, oppose the AZ law. She merely said there are "better ways" - which is true. The better way would have been for the federal government to do its job. She gave an ambiguous statement, like other politicians (see Tancredo, Rubio, Jeb Bush etc), but she did not oppose it as you allege.

Whitman's immigration policy sounds similar to the one espoused by Fred Thompson, Palin et al...

For the record, I fully support the AZ law. They had no choice, under the circumstances. I wish they could have waited until after November, however, and I hope it doesn't backfire on us.

It is easy to see why you are a Whitman supporter

California’s most respected conservative who is Tom McClintock, not the rino, Bill Jones, has endorsed Steve Poizner.

Whitman endorsed Al Gore and loved Van Jones when she was promoting him to the media.

Whitman is against the Arizona law.

You have been hitting the threads whining about the Arizona law also.

Your posting history is rino territory, you actually want Meg Whitman in office.

LOL. You have too much time on your hands it you are investigating people's posting history, buddy.
1) Get a life.
2) You betcha I want Whitman in office instead of Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown.
3) Whitman never endorsed Al Gore it was Poizner who senet Gore 10K for the Gore/Bush recount.
4) McClintock is no longer the most respected conservative in California after his bonehead Poizner endorsement (Duncan Hunter still has that honor, although... he dropped a few notches as well with his bonehead endorsement of Huckabee).

Whitman did endorse Al Gore in 2000 according to Cox News Services and Inforworld, that would have been months after her donating to John Kerry’s reelection and before supporting Maria Cantwell in 2002, even though she wasn’t registered during those years. In 2003 she donated heavily to the Democratic Committee and Barbara Boxer and of course has given to other Democrats.

You do want Meg Whitman to lead California Republicans, she is a good match for your politics, it is no wonder that famed conservative warrior Tom McClintock is disliked by you.
I have to question how much you know about California conservatives if you do not know the respect for McClintock out here.
