I’d be surprised if he runs, given the NY GOP is convinced they can get the Senate back, and they won’t want any of their Senators running (as with what happened in the last NY House special we blew).

Being the cynic I am, I assume that during a time of war neither party will be running a veteran?

One reason that Republicans lost that race was because state Senator Elizabeth Little wanted to run, but was elbowed out of contention by Jim Tescido and his supporters. And Tescido didn’t even live in the district.

We moved from his district a few years ago and so haven’t been keeping tabs on him like we used to.

I was unaware that he had changed that much in how he voted.

That’s very disappointing.

Franklin County Legislator Paul Maroun (R-Tupper Lake), a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves, said McHugh’s passion for helping the military is unequaled.

Maroun is running. Normally, running for Congress is a 2-year job, so an unknown can do it. These special elections require a big time pol who is already known .... there is no startup time built in because the election happens quickly.

Ah, now we can see what his positions are on relelvant issues. It would be nice if the Reagan Republicans could align before one candidate. There is no reason this district shouldn’t be sending a Duncan Hunter type candidate to the congress.

That 2% difference is a *big* 2%-—often the difference between winning and losing.

NARAL endorsed? If he was running in Manhattan, I could tolerate it. But not for that area.

Paul Maroun seems like a good enough choice, and he has lots of experience.

the NARAL Republicans are putting on the full court press to get this nomination for one of their many prospects in this race.

CF, I’ve decided to go ahead and support Maroun. Thanks for the reminder. I wish I knew for sure how to pronounce his name.

Good question, as I don’t know either. It looks like an Armenian surname.

Paul Maroun, county legislator, is the only pro-life candidate to come forward at this point. All of these state legislators who are rumbling are NARAL.

NOT Running: Griffo, Ray Meier, James Wright, Taub, Champagne, Little.

the pro-aborts are going to try to swipe the nomination

Matthew A. Doheny has heard most of the rumors about his potential candidacy for Congress.
