I understand about posting before coffee :)
Hunting never interested me, except cooking the spoils...............but I've been fishing since I was a little kid. sort of strange since I grew up in New York City.
We do a lot of surf and pier fishing, very little boat fishing.
The first lesson of fishing is that it is called fishing, not catching for a reason. And like golf and bowling, it is one of the few sports where beer drinking is MANDATORY!!!!
The folks I grew up with are still flabergasted that I live in the country.....while failing to realize that while it is the state capitol, Dover, DE is not exactly an urban area :)
I've got the beer drinking aspect covered.
You're more than halfway there!!!!!
I remember the first time my husband took me surf fishing when we wre first dating. Besides catching some rays and a good buzz, the only thing caught was the baby shark I caught.
This thing wa such a baby we figured I'd be arrested for child abuse. Well by the time we got back to town and to the local watering hole that shark had grown to the size of Jaws and I was only able to reel it into rifle range :)
You just had to mention sharks didn't you...
Sorry :)

Kilgore proposes tax-funded engineering scholarships
And finally, the Pilot's take on the Marrs' letter......
My grandfather taught me how to fish. I got no special treatment just because I am a girl, either. I had to bait my own hooks and clean the fish I caught.
I haven't been fishing in years and years. Such great memories.
Have fun in NC. We're going in two weeks. Haven't been there in 10+ years so it'll be fun seeing what's changed.
I agree with you - Michael Paul Williams' columns just disgust me most of the time. Everything is always about race with him. Or how immoral business is. Or how immoral Republicans are. I really can't stand his writings in the least.
Not to my knowledge. I'm sure he would rather die first than admit that a Republican did something good and beneficial for someone else. That concept just doesn't fit into his worldview.
Here's the stuff from the RTD:
Potts blasts Kilgore's spending proposals
He derides 'shopping spree,' but opponent says foe is in 'left field'
by Jeffy Schapiro
H. Russell Potts Jr., the independent candidate for governor, and Republican Jerry W. Kilgore tangled yesterday over a growing wish list of big-dollar ideas Kilgore claims he can finance without new taxes.
Sesame Street is brought to you today by the letter "C" for collusion. I have no evidence and no way to prove it. But you will never be able to convince me that there was no back door deal between Potts, Kaine and Warner.
Gay-rights advocates target stationary used by Marrs Paper used for appeal seems to mimic House letterhead, they say
by Jeffy Schapiro
After criticizing Del. Bradley P. Marrs for spotlighting the sexual orientation of a political donor, gay-rights advocates in both parties are taking issue with Marrs' stationary.
Now this is just getting ridiculous.
Mountain. Molehill. You know the drill.
Allen begins annual Va. tour Monday
WASHINGTON -- Sen. George Allen's apparent national political aspirations won't preclude his annual summertime "listening tour" across Virginia.
And, speaking of collusion...take a look at today's Letter's to the Editor.
Scroll down to Gubernatorial Race Stirs Readers' Passion.
Looks like they were serving some passion juice at Kinko's that night.
I got a large postcard in the mail regarding the date Allen will be in my area this coming week. I hope to be there!
Evidence, proof? We don't need so steenking evidence.......
Re: Stationary
Politics as usual, and the closer we get to the election, the worse it will get.
From the RTD this mornig:
No vacations for fundraisers
But summer is a slow time for gubernatorial candidates' campaigns
We were discussing collusion yesterday...........well check out this list of letters to the Editor, and tell me it is not with a Capitol "C"
Bashing?: Fund-Raising Letter Generates a Public Outcry
For the life of me I can not believe there wre no letters with an opposite position.............

Thanks, Gabz! How are you doing? How's the ankle?
Howdy, Gummy!!!!!!!
The ankle is still encased in purple fiberglass, but does seem to be getting better day by slow day.........thanks.
How's by you?
We should get twenty VA Freepers to donate fifty-dollars then let one of the VA female Freepers go to the picnic. Make that nineteen Freepers as jla will pledge the first $50.
I'm finer than a frog's hair split three ways!! That's purty fine! Are you able to walk on the ankle, yet? And how many screws did you get? I haven't "talked" to you since the surgery.
