Tuesday stuff. It's late...

McDonnell leads in fundraising
'A bottomless pit,' U.Va. analyst says of candidates' sources
by Pamela Stallsmith
Republican Robert F. McDonnell had raised the most money of all the candidates running for attorney general or lieutenant governor as of last Wednesday, reporting almost $1.9 million.

Attorney general rivals hit the roads
Baril and McDonnell plan extensive swings as the primary nears
by Tammie Smith
Just days before voters decide on a Republican attorney general nominee, candidates Steve Baril and Del. Robert F. McDonnell will travel hundreds of miles across the state trying to win support.

Anybody seen any poll numbers?

Cranwell set to be elected Democratic Party chairman
by Tyler Whitley
Former Roanoke County Del. C. Richard Cranwell, in line to become the new state Democratic Party chairman, said yesterday that he will avoid what he termed the non-compromising "finger-pointing" that characterizes American politics.

Yeaaaaargh! Virginia's own Howard Dean!

I haven't gotten to the TD yet this morning - but am finishing up with the Pilot:

Kilgore wins endorsement of NRA

Apparently Kaine's people do not like Kilgore's new ad campaign........boo-hoo. I absolutley love this comment from the New Dem chairman:

"I don't think anybody should dignify any of this by getting into a debate on the facts," Cranwell told a handful of reporters.

ROFL!!!!

Yeah, Dickie Cranwell has never had a close relationship with the "facts."

When I read that comment to my husband he remarked that is the kind of statement you want to hear come from you opponent - but you never imagined anyone would be so stupid as to utter it :)

Today's stuff...

Money talks with regional accents
Kaine holds the fundraising edge in Northern Virginia; Kilgore leads in rural areas
by Pamela Stallsmith
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Timothy M. Kaine continues to hold a huge fundraising edge in voter-rich Northern Virginia, while Republican Jerry W. Kilgore leads with more donations in many of the state's rural areas.

Fitch runs against GOP 'coronations'
Kilgore's rival in Republican primary is given little chance, but keeps taxes in spotlight
by Jeffy Schapiro
Don't blink. You might miss the other fight for a spot on this year's Virginia Republican ticket: the nomination for governor.

Jeffy implies Fitch is a symbol of disunity in the GOP. But wait, I thought that was Russ Potts...

Warner targets $11 million in grants to areas in need
by Jamie C. Ruff
SOUTH BOSTON -- Gov. Mark R. Warner passed out nearly $11 million in Community Development Block Grant funds to 18 Virginia localities and lobbied for the communities to keep pressure on Congress to preserve the program.

Your tax dollars at work.

Yes, I think we're still on for today.

Sine's at 11:30. There's a parking lot across the street for those who don't work downtown and will be driving in.

Hope to see everyone there!

From NRO Today:

Last week I told you about Mitt Romney’s visit to New Hampshire as keynote speaker for the annual New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women’s Lilac Dinner. This was the same event that launched President Bush’s first foray into New Hampshire primary politics back in 1999.

Well, the group has also decided to hold their traditional Lilac Luncheon as has asked George Allen to be the featured speaker there on June 25th.

It's Finally Friday!

Fundraising key to Cantor's goals
Events at expensive locales are part of his leadership ambitions
by Peter Hardin, Richmond Times Dispatch
WASHINGTON -- The addresses of West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Aspen are more than playgrounds for the rich and famous.

Rep. Eric I. Cantor, R-7th, is working hard to raise political money at desirable destinations. Part of his political operation, records show, paid in 2003-2004 for events at spots including the posh Spago restaurant in Beverly Hills, Asia de Cuba restaurant in West Hollywood, and the Little Nell resort and the Sky Hotel in Aspen.

Cantor finds that high profile draws scrutiny
He says his role in the GOP leadership has led to partisan attacks
by Peter Hardin, Richmond Times Dispatch
WASHINGTON -- Rep. Eric I. Cantor recently denounced a "poisonous partisan atmosphere" in the capital after a liberal-leaning watchdog group urged scrutiny of his contacts with a controversial lobbyist.

RTD still has the Governor's Poll up. Kilgore is ahead. Let's keep it that way.

How come nobody told me Anne Bancroft died?

Can you send me those links we talked about? I want to update the website and send the link to the campaign this weekend.

I've got a couple of graphic ideas I'm working on.
