Living in Massachusetts I have nothing but negative memories of how dirty a campaigner this guy can be. People should not under estimate how low this guy will go to win election. When he ran against Weld and Shamie years ago, he was very successful in destroying his opponents character through lies, innuendo and help from the loving boston media.
I have no doubt that this is how he will run against W if he gets to that point.
I am telling y'all this - Kerry is a total scumbag but a smart one at that, which makes him very dangerous. He is not too different from Clinton in that respect.

I stand corrected. Either way Drudge should just drop it. The story died in 2K because there was no clear answer so the voters decided there was nothing there. The issue needs to remain dead, no good will come of bringing it up again. NONE.

I totally agree with your assessment of Kerry. I would never vote for him.

As a Vietnam vet myself I think the points made above about this issue need to be answered. It is not out of line to ask the Commander-in-Chief to clarify it once and for all. Bush brought this on HIMSELF, and the longer he avoids clearing it up, the longer this issue will fester. If I had decided to take a "year off," I'd STILL be making little rocks out of big ones in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Remember, folks, it's not the act -- it's the cover up (or PERCEPTION of one) -- that sinks the ship.

Well, Karl Rove is an EXCELLENT coroner. But veterans, from my experience anyway, don't live by something like an "R" after someone's name when it comes to judging duty and honor. Having a voting block like that out there can be a real b**** for people like Rove, but let not your heart be troubled, I'm sure he has ways of dealing with it. After all, it's for the Greater Good, right?

Yes. But he was NOT their first choice. For example, there are an estimated 140,000 veterans in New Hampshire and many of them are registered independents who voted to help John McCain capture the Republican primary over Bush in 2000.

This issue was vetted then and dismissed.

And hopefully you can pull it off again. But this ain't your Granfather's 2000.

*He* is. He is a buffoon. A WELL PAID buffoon, but a buffoon nevertheless. But wanting to know what happened during that missing year is NOT over the top. If Bush can't account for an entire year of his life then what ELSE won't he be able to account for? This is NOT a left/right or Republican/Democrat issue. It is about clarifying the record. Why are some people so afraid of that? I had the temerity to ask loudly why Clinton never released his medical records too.

This insistance that we all be good little Pod People and keep our mouths shut when Uncle Karl tells us to is a hell of a lot more scary than Michael Moore could ever hope to be.
