Well, it seems that the Audi S8 uses different cams and has a dual air plenum that won’t fit the S6. The engine has a 4-cam engine with 4 valves per cylinder for S6 and S8 models. There is a chip upgrade for the S6 which adds 50hp which would bring it up to 470. Don’t know if I will do the chip since Car and Driver tested the base car at 0-60 in 3.7 sec and 1/4 mile at 12.2 sec at 115mph.
The old version of S6 used the Audi V10 engine which is used in the Lamborghini Gaillardo and Audi R8-V10. The V10 makes more hp, but the twin turbo V8 has a much wider torque curve and is faster. The V8 twin turbo is also used in the Bentley Continental.
