Chavez knows nothing is going to happen to him. Chavez wants to know that when Obama sends financial support to him that it is in gold and not the funny money that Obama is creating.
Obama is making him dicker and that is frustrating to Chavez.

Well, I wouldn’t say that’s worth declaring war, after all, wars are just so d*mn costly. Why not seize something nice in return? There should be some Venezuela assets in reach with all the oil trade.

It seems to me this is the chance a company takes when it chooses to build or buy and run a factory in a place like Venezuela. They knew Chavez might do this, and chose to remain and hope it wouldn’t happen. They gambled and they lost.
