They're talking now about what I was thinking: there's enough "also ran" drivers around now to start a yard sale scalping unused rubber.

Not a rule, but Goodyear recommends certain minimum pressures. Could be part of the blow-out problem. Softer the tar, better the traction, a la dragsters. Problem is, they will come apart.

Yeah, that's what I'm curious about -- unless Nascar is trying to figure if there's a difference in the teams having vs. not having tire trouble... I could understand a check for safety reasons, but I figure it's gotta be something about the camber angle and stuff like that.

Nascar just made a camber rule about a month ago. Only so many degrees of ?? negative camber, I forget.

What # caution are we on?
To: alancarp
Camber is an issue, pressure is another. Remember the firestone/ford suv fiasco?

Yeah, and .... man, I can't iamgine the screaming if we end up with a bunch of comp. cautions to finish this thing. Words fail... this is unbelievable.

Now they will probably mess up the handling with this minimum inflation stuff. Smoke had one tire not meeting the new RULE.
To: WestCoastGal
Either run the recommended pressure or quit cryin'. run em low if you wish, right into the wall.
