Have just about given up. On the other thread(blown tars or whatever) it seemed Nascar gained more fans that it is losing.
Passing has become difficult, prompting NASCAR officials to introduce technical changes designed to spice up the show. Veteran Rusty Wallace lobbied officials to make the changes, which include shorter rear spoiler wings (lowered from 5½ inches to 4½ inches) and tires that lose their grip more quickly.LINK
Mikey said in one interview, "Well this is what the drivers wanted". Don't know if he was one of them.
There was a Cup Series record 22 yellow flags in the May Coca-Cola 600 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, the first Cup event held after the track's surface was smoothed out using a diamond-grinding technique called levigating. Since May, areas that had been ground were reground, and additional areas - primarily in the low groove on the exit of Turn 2 and the frontstretch - were ground for the first time.

Hi Vegas [one of my fav tv shows]
I wanted to wait to respond to your post re: McMary and Mikey's wreck until I saw INC last night.
Mikey said he still wasn't sure what happened, he thought it may be coincidental that his left rear blew when he and McMary got together or that McMary came up into him. Vickers who is also on the show said he thought McMary came up into him and for the record the camera view from the car behind does seem to prove that scenario.
The biggest and most important fact is that Nascar forced the 15 to pit from the lead to change tires AND air pressure putting him in that position further back where the wreck occurred. He said his car was setup to run with the 47 pounds of pressure in the right front and they were NOT having any blistering problems. However, once they were forced to run a minimum air pressure the car got tight and he wound up in mid pack.
So, I realize Nascar was trying to fix a problem during a race that should have been fixed before but their interference in both Smoke and Mikeys pitstops may have changed the course of the race and the chase for that matter.
