“”””We keep hearing this Boomer braggadocio about mighty NATO.
Meanwhile, the West is still failing on the basics like artillery ammunition production.””””

You are a foreign boomer and you make the strangest posts about boomers, like that one, and just how many 155 shells are the United States and its global allies supposed to make and stock, what is that number, and by what date, and why, since they don’t depend on field artillery like more basic militaries like Russia and Ukraine do?

Russia hardly has a functioning air force. It's air defense isn't nearly what it's been cracked up to be.

The Russians could hit NATO cities and targets with Iskanders and Kinzhals, but unless fitted with nukes, they're an annoyance. If they kill a lot of civilians, NATO will press even harder. In particular, Kaliningrad oblast has been denuded of troops, can only be re-supplied by sea, and is vulnerable to attack by the Polish army.

What's likely to happen is that Putin backs down from direct confrontation and goes back to more hybrid warfare: sabotage, cyberattacks, political influence campaigns.

A few months ago, there was a financial podcast (semi-humorous) about the sovereign debt crisis in Europe. Specifically, Germany, France and the UK had some huge sovereign debt that needed to be paid off as well as rolled over. The debt was so huge that they could not afford the debt service on it.

What Germany, France and the UK needed was to be repaid money they had loaned to Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, etc. Those countries also were in poor financial shape to repay what they had borrowed.

The “tag line” in the pod cast that was repeated was how are France, Germany and the UK going to handle their sovereign debt. Up until the end the “expert” ignored answering the question. At the end they simply said that something like a war was one way of suspending sovereign debt temporarily or at least confiscating Russian assets to help pay the debt.

I honestly think that many in Europe would want a WW3 just to get themselves out of their sovereign debt problem.

The NATO-Russia War of 2025: Who Wins?

Such a war has a good probability of going nuclear. With a nuclear exchange between Russia and NATO, China wins and the world suffers nuclear fallout for years if not centuries.

Islam wins.

That’s right, as far as the NATO countries in Europe are concerned. The Muslims in the NATO countries sit back and watch the infidels destroy each other. Then they’re in a good position to rule the roost.

Russia has no domestic Muslim problem.

I don’t buy it. Ukraine has them at standstill. All of NATO (assuming USA involvement) and we would easily win and quickly.. assuming nukes are off the table.

We need to get out of NATO so we don’t get pulled into it.

that as well as the equally pragmatic goal of staying in power for many of the key actor’s parties.

I don’t think trump wants this, but can he actually prevent it, or prevent being dragged into it once they push far enough to light it off?

I might read your blog if you’d post the whole thing. If it’s not your blog, you’re a shill for it, so same. I will not give clicks to blogs that pimp on FreeRepublic. This is not your platform. You and “next rush” (lol) need to go somewhere and pay for your ads.

“and then be defeated by the US and NATO’

Say the US alone. The rest of NATO is useless.

Answer: Andrew Latham and the National Security Journal.

As long as they can make a living writing and talking about what is far above their grade.
