No, it wouldn't be difficult to believe that. Politicians can be vindictive, no matter what country they come from. I worked for NY State while Mario Cuomo was Governor. One year he had two bond referendums on the ballot, and both got soundly defeated by the people of the State. He was counting on them passing to get his ass out of trouble with the budget. When those referendums failed, he was like a child afterward, having a temper tantrum. He lashed out at just about everyone in the State, in whatever way he could. He was an asshat. Thankfully, I was already retired when his retarded son Andrew became Governor.
