You misunderstood the premise. Non western peoples are not the same thing as third worlders, necessarily.

“The richest country in the world, Singapore is an example all countries would do well to emulate.”

I agree with your implied thesis that Asian countries in general are of a different mindset, and, of course, they have multiple cultures as well.

I know less about Singapore, but I have tutored the children of Indian and other Asian immigrants. The parents are tiger moms and dads. Their children are going to get either PhDs or MDs. Period. And if it’s a PhD, it had better be in a hard scientific discipline.

I’m sure that not all Asian parents push their children like that, but it goes a long way in explaining the prevalence of doctors of Indian ancestry that I’ve encountered. Also, how many children of Indian ancestry have won spelling bees?

Great Britain and continental Western Europe have been flooded by immigrants from Africa and the Middle East, and that explains the narrator’s specific focus in the video. He’s not covering the whole non-Western world.

Thank you for your post.

Yes, Singapore does many things right. Was there recently - clean, safe, rich.

Being real tough on drugs and crime and promoting personal responsibility is key to their success.

They do not think. They are primal savages driven by emotion only.

“it wasn’t ‘resources’ or farming that took us to where we are, it was some gene mutation in a relative handful of people, probably millions of years ago”

My guess is, it wasn’t a gene mutation as much as a gene selection. The “responsible” gene(s) may already have existed in the population, and environmental conditions (such as long cold winters) may have resulted in it surviving better than others. In other words, survival of the fittest.

“Corruption exists on a sliding scale, I think. One unique feature of western culture is that corruption exists most certainly at the top, but not so much at the bottom. Your mayor is probably making underhanded deals but the clerk at DMV probably isn’t.”

Not based on the news from Tennessee last week - the DMV clerks had quite a racket going. I think a better measure night be the ‘diversity level’ of the people at a given level. (to you Karens out there, I’m talking likelihood of being corrupt varying by group, I’m not accusing EVERYONE of certain groups as being corrupt)

You do not understand how these people think. They will not produce the same civilization as us.

Indeed note every person with no love for America in a government job and the results they produce they have a mask of progressive liberalism.

There’s something else that I think is virtually unique not to just Western civilization, but to the US. That is the “nerd”. I’ve had plenty of brilliant and capable offshore engineers and programmers who’ve worked with and for me over the years, but their focus has always been on career advancement. About the time they achieve true proficiency they have moved fully into management.
