In 2016, you could argue that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were in charge of the Republican Party.
Once Trump got in the White House, Paul Ryan decided to quit even though he was the Speaker at the time.

The only peaceful way to save Britain:
Step 1: Close the country down. Don’t let even one more illegal get in.
Step 2: Pay each illegal already there whatever it takes to get them to leave.
Both steps require more than a little courage.
Neither step stands even the remotest chance of happening. So as you noted, it’s either civil war or a complete takeover. I suppose the blokes in the barracks will have the final vote on that.

That is most definitely not the right word. Think of other words that might better describe. Notice you’ll hear people say anodyne things like “We’re bringing people into this country who blah blah blah” We have done no such thing. Who is this “we” kemosabe?
Nobody wants this much less voted for this. The entire point of representative government is for elected leaders to fear being ousted if they do not represent their citizens. “Our precious Democracy” indeed.
If you can’t change the voters minds, change the voters. No difference than the Democrats plan here in the US.
