Not this shiite again.....
I hate to say it, but DOGE was just another flash in the pan. It’s dead and no lasting reform will come out of it. Has everybody noticed all the hysteria about DOGE and Musk quickly disappeared?
I was really hopeful that this time it would be different. But, no, we are still watching the same old slow motion 500 car pile up on the interstate.
As great as our governing documents are, our government still sucks.
Republicans are self interested to the point of excluding all else.
Democrats are self interested, but the hive mind causes them to fall in line and push an agenda.
The way things are reflects what has been done in the past, and how it has evolved.
When Lyndon Johnson created Medicare, he thought he was solving a problem for a small set of voters, who would be grateful and support the Democrats. He never thought it would grow to $1.5 trillion a year in spending, and be relied on by 60 million people - nearly all of whom vote in every election.
Now what?
Maybe all of this was planned a very long time ago.
Maybe Trump is a small piece of all of this, like Obama and those before him.
Maybe like George Carlin said, “It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.”
Maybe they care about your grandkid’s future as much as you do?
Maybe we’ll get this straight in 2032.

Strive to find like-minded folks.
The article is damning. But it can also be slanted to the point of being dishonest.
If I could ask one question it would be this: Does the bill really run a deficit larger than Biden’s last one?
If the answer is yes, then the author is on the right track. Doesn’t mean Trump is to blame. For sure it means the Republican Congress is to blame.
The fact Doge Cuts are not in the bill is a killer imo
The DemonRAT losers have chosen “Doctor Jill’s” racial slur, “Breakfast Tacos” to attack Trump. I guess this is the way they’ve chosen to attack all of the “Tacos” who voted for President Trump back in November. I don’t think calling Trump a “Taco” is going to offend him much. He’s proud of the number of votes he received from the Mexican Americans during the last election.
Truth be known..... I’m wholly not interested in Medicare and would like to keep my current insurance through the state which is over $800 a month. Alas.... I’m being forced onto this government program whether I like it or not. /:^(
“If the answer is yes, then the author is on the right track.”
The answer is NO.
“I’m being forced onto this government program whether I like it or not. /:^(”
We are on Medicare as primary but still have our state BC/BS as secondary.
Works great.
The DOGE cuts will be addressed after this BBB passes.
The problem is that our politicians are the swamp. Its always been the problem. They will not act against their own self interest.
Not to keep posting the same thing over and over, BUT: Washington Republicans ARE the swamp.
That’s not the purpose of the slur. It’s that Trump promised reduced spending, hired Musk to help, finds a boatload of corruption and wasteful spending, and follows up with nothing. Has Bondi put anyone in jail yet, even though we know corrupt people who should be in jail by now? Has Patel put anyone in cuffs yet who stuffed ballot boxes? Has Trump put any of the DOGE-defined dollars back into public coffers or used those funds to retire the debt? Have any of the bogus NGOs been prosecuted? Then after all that, he supports a pork-filled bill that has a few crumbs of what Trump wants.
Time to fight for a line item veto and a small kick in the ass.
