Same here. When I’ve pointed out that racist language I got supportive private messages from long time conservative minority posters. You would recognize their nics. Disappointingly, I get lots of push back from long time posters you’d also recognize who then attack me. I’m going to continue to call out the racist language and it may get to the point I will leave. I hate how that stuff makes the forum look.
I get that nobody’s perfect and we all have our own personal prejudices. We can even joke about ethnicity and sex and not get spun up. We can all take a few jabs here and there, we aren’t snowflakes. But we must discern when the group think crosses the line and becomes ugly hypocrisy. Think of the insult and disrespect to America First ethnic groups here on FR. I’m going to continue to call it out and don’t care if childish hypocrites don’t like it. My family has literally been spit on in public and me beaten for ethnicity. I don’t like the direction the conversation is going here and think others like you and me would agree. Let’s stick together and keep speaking out in defense of honor. We need to speak up when we see things aren’t right.
Agree. As a long-term FReeper like you I want the conservative movement to grow and alienating others, no matter the intention, is counterproductive. And I really think it hurts the forum, which is not growing.
I never thought of FR not growing. Maybe that’s why the fund raising is so slow. People die off and new people see all the negativity and don’t stick around. Yeah I agree with you about wanting the conservative movement to grow and the nastiness being counterproductive.
I do the same.
It used to be that they'll get suspended for it.
